Unalloyed steel plumbing fittings - Fittings with press ends for unalloyed steel tubes

This European Standard specifies materials and test requirements for tube connections with press end fittings made of carbon steel.
This part of EN xxxx specifies press end connections in the size range 12 mm to 108 mm for the purpose of joining carbon steel tubes intended for use in heating and cooling systems, oil transporting, compressed air, natural gas and liquefied petroleum gas systems.
Permissible operating temperatures and maximum operating pressures are also established.
Fittings may comprise a combination of end types, specified in this standard or other standards, providing they are suitable for the fluid /gas being conveyed.
The standard establishes a designation tube system with press end joints made with the components fitting and, tube pressed with a pressing tool.
This standard is applicable to press fittings for joining carbon steel tubes to EN xxxxx. Fittings may be suitable for joining other metallic tubes provided the press fitting joint with the specified tube meets the requirements of this standard.

Diese Europäische Norm legt Werkstoffe und Prüfanforderungen für Rohrverbindungen mit Pressfittings aus unlegiertem Stahl fest.
Diese Europäische Norm legt Pressfittings in einem Nennweitenbereich von 12 mm bis 108 mm für das Verbinden von Rohren aus unlegiertem Stahl für die Verwendung in Heizungs- und Kühlanlagen, Nass-Sprinkleranlagen, zum Transport von Öl und Druckluft fest.
Zulässige Betriebstemperaturen und höchstzulässige Betriebsdrücke sind ebenfalls festgelegt.
Fittings können eine Kombination von Verbindungsarten entsprechend den Festlegungen dieser oder einer anderen Norm umfassen, sofern sie für das leitungsgeführte Medium/Gas geeignet sind.
Die Norm legt ein Bezeichnungssystem für Rohre mit Pressfittingverbindungen unter Verwendung der Komponenten Fitting und Rohr, welche mit einem Presswerkzeug verbunden wurden, fest.
Diese Norm gilt für Pressfittings für das Verbinden von unlegierten Stahlrohren nach EN 10305 3, EN 10346 und EN ISO 2081.
Fittings können für das Verbinden von Rohren aus anderen Metallen geeignet sein, sofern die Pressfitting-verbindung mit dem jeweiligen Rohr den Anforderungen der vorliegenden Norm entspricht.

La présente Norme européenne spécifie les exigences relatives aux matériaux et aux essais pour les jonctions de tubes avec des raccords à sertir en acier non allié.
La présente Norme européenne spécifie les raccords à sertir dont les dimensions sont comprises entre 12 mm et 108 mm, permettant de raccorder des tubes en acier non allié destinés à être utilisés dans des systèmes de chauffage et de refroidissement, des installations d'extinction automatique à eau ainsi que des réseaux de transport d'huile et d'air comprimé.
Les températures de service admissibles et les pressions maximales de service sont également spécifiées.
Les raccords peuvent comporter différents types d'extrémités, spécifiées dans la présente norme ou dans d'autres normes, à la condition qu'elles soient compatibles avec le fluide ou l'air transporté.
La présente norme définit un système de désignation pour les raccordements effectués par sertissage d'un raccord sur le tube à l'aide d'un outil de sertissage.
La présente norme est applicable aux raccords à sertir destinés au raccordement de tubes en acier non allié conformes aux EN 10305-3, EN ISO 2081 et EN 10346.
Les raccords peuvent être adaptés au raccordement d'autres tubes métalliques, à la condition que l'assemblage du raccord à sertir et du tube spécifié réponde aux exigences de la présente norme.

This document (prEN 10358:2012) has been prepared by Technical Committee ECISS/TC 110 “Steel tubes,
and iron and steel fittings”, the secretariat of which is held by UNI.
This document is currently submitted to the CEN Enquiry.
1 Scope
This European Standard specifies materials and test requirements for tube connections with press fittings
made of unalloyed steel.
This European Standard specifies press fittings in the size range 12 mm to 108 mm for the purpose of joining
unalloyed steel tubes intended for use in heating and cooling systems, wet sprinkler systems, oil transporting
and compressed air.
Permissible operating temperatures and maximum operating pressures are also established.
Fittings may comprise a combination of end types, specified in this standard or other standards, providing they
are suitable for the fluid /air being conveyed.
The standard establishes a designation tube system with press end joints made with the components fitting
and tube, pressed with a pressing tool.
This standard is applicable to press fittings for joining unalloyed steel tubes to EN 10305-3, EN ISO 2081,
EN 10346.
Fittings may be suitable for joining other metallic tubes provided the press fitting joint with the specified tube
meets the requirements of this standard.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply:

means by which a manufacturer ensures that the performances declared by the manufacturer continue to be
valid for all subsequent products

verification of the product's performances described in the technical specification before starting serial

MOP
maximum internal pressure at which pipe work can be operated under regular operating conditions

outside diameter of the connecting tube

marked in such a way that the marking will remain readable up to the end of the life of the installation, e.g. by
stamping, etching or engraving

reference figure to characterize components of a pipe work system, It comprises the letters "PN" (Pressure
Nominal) followed by an integer which indicates the design pressure in bar at room temperature.
Note 1 to entry: The allowable pressure of a pipe work component depends on the PN number, the material
and design of the component, its allowable temperature, etc.
