EN 4156 specifies the characteristics of adjustable rod ends with self-aligning double row ball bearing and threaded shank in steel, inner ring and balls in corrosion resisting steel. They consist of: - a rod end comprising: - either seals or shields; - an optional longitudinal groove for locking purpose; - an inner ring with balls. These rod ends are intended for use with flight control rods or rods for aerospace structures. They are intended to be used in the temperature range: - 54 °C to 150 °C. However, being lubricated with the following greases: - very high pressure grease, ester type (code A), operational range - 73 °C to 121 °C according MIL-PRF-23827 type II - very high pressure grease, synthetic hydrocarbons, general purpose (code B), operational range - 54 °C to 177 °C (see EN 2067), according MIL-PRF-81322. - very high pressure grease, lithium type (code C) operational range - 73 °C to 121 °C according MIL-PRF-23827 type I. Their field of application when lubricated with codes A and C grease is limited to 121 °C.

Diese Norm legt die Eigenschaften von einstellbaren Ösenköpfen mit zweireihigem Pendelkugellager und Gewindeschaft aus Stahl, Innenring und Wälzkörper aus korrosionsbeständigem Stahl fest.
Sie bestehen aus:
   Einem Ösenkopf, der:
   mit Dicht  oder Deckscheiben ausgerüstet ist;
   einer Längsnut zur Sicherung aufweisen kann;
   einem Innenring mit Kugeln.
Diese Ösenköpfe sind für Bediengestänge für Flugsteuerungen oder für Strukturstangen von Luftfahrzeugen bestimmt.
Sie sind für den Einsatz in folgendem Temperaturbereich vorgesehen: –54 °C bis 150 °C.
Da sie jedoch mit folgenden Fetten geschmiert werden:
   Hochdruckfett auf Esterbasis (Kennbuchstabe A); Betriebstemperaturbereich –73 °C bis 121 °C nach MIL PRF 23827, Typ II;
   Hochdruckfett auf der Basis von synthetischen Kohlenwasserstoffen zur allgemeinen Verwendung (Kennbuchstabe B), Betriebstemperaturbereich –54 °C bis 177 °C (siehe EN 2067), nach MIL PRF 81322;
   Hochdruckfett auf Lithiumbasis (Kennbuchstabe C) Betriebstemperaturbereich –73 °C bis 121 °C nach MIL PRF 23827, Typ I;
Ist ihr Anwendungsbereich bei Schmierung mit Fett mit den Kennbuchstaben A und C auf 121 °C eingeschränkt.

La présente Norme Européenne spécifie les caractéristiques des embouts réglables à rotule sur deux rangées de billes et à tige filetée en acier, bague intérieure et billes en acier résistant à la corrosion.
Ils sont constitués : d'un corps d'embout comprenant : soit des joints d'étanchéité, soit des flasques de protection ; éventuellement une rainure longitudinale de verrouillage ; d'une bague intérieure sur billes.
Ces embouts sont destinés aux bielles pour commande de vol ou aux bielles de structure aérospatiales
Ils sont destinés à être utilisés dans une plage de température comprise entre – 54 °C to 150 °C.
Cependant, comme ils sont lubrifiés avec les graisses suivantes : graisse extrême pression, type ester (code A) plage d'utilisation comprise entre – 73 °C to 121 °C selon la MIL-PRF-23827 type II graisse extrême pression, type aux hydrocarbures synthétiques, usage général (code B), plage d'utilisation comprise entre 54 °C to 177 °C (voir l' EN 2067), selon la MIL-PRF-81322. graisse extrême pression, type lithium (code C), plage d'utilisation – 73 °C to 121 °C selon la MIL-PRF-23827 type I.
En cas de lubrification avec de la graisse code A et C, leur domaine d'application est limité à 121 °C.
