Resilient and textile floor-coverings - Determination of side length, edge straightness and squareness of tiles (ISO 24342:2018)
This document describes methods for determining side lengths, straightness of edges and squareness
of resilient or textile floor tiles and planks.
The side lengths, straightness and squareness of resilient or textile floor tiles and planks are important
considerations because installed flooring will have an objectionable appearance if these performance
criteria are not followed. This can cause the installed tiles/planks to line up unevenly, producing
unsightly seams and corners that do not match.

La longueur des bords, la rectitude et l'équerrage des revêtements de sol résilients ou textiles sous forme de dalles et de lames sont des critères de performance importants qui, s'ils ne sont pas respectés, donnent aux revêtements installés un aspect inacceptable. Il peut s'ensuivre un mauvais alignement des dalles/lames avec des joints disgracieux et des coins qui s'assemblent mal.

This document (EN ISO 24342:2018) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 219 "Floor
coverings" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 134 “Resilient, textile and laminate floor
coverings” the secretariat of which is held by NBN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by June 2019, and conflicting national standards shall be
withdrawn at the latest by June 2019.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of
patent rights. CEN shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
This document supersedes EN 994:2012 and EN ISO 24342:2012.

Komitee CEN/TC 134 erstellt.

Vorwort
ISO (die Internationale Organisation für Normung) ist eine weltweite Vereinigung von Nationalen
Normungsorganisationen (ISO-Mitgliedsorganisationen). Die Erstellung von Internationalen Normen wird
normalerweise von ISO Technischen Komitees durchgeführt. Jede Mitgliedsorganisation, die Interesse an
einem Thema hat, für welches ein Technisches Komitee gegründet wurde, hat das Recht, in diesem Komitee
vertreten zu sein. Internationale Organisationen, staatlich und nicht-staatlich, in Liaison mit ISO, nehmen

Diese dritte Ausgabe ersetzt die zweite Ausgabe (ISO 24342:2007), die technisch überarbeitet wurde.
Die wesentlichen Änderungen im Vergleich zur Vorgängerfassung sind wie folgt:
— Abschnitt 2 „Normative Verweisungen“ wurde entsprechend den derzeit geltenden ISO-Gestaltungs-
regeln aufgenommen;
— Abschnitt 3 „Begriffe“ wurde entsprechend den derzeit geltenden ISO-Gestaltungsregeln aktualisiert;
— Abschnitt 5 „Prüfeinrichtung“ wurde entsprechend den derzeit geltenden ISO-Gestaltungsregeln neu
geordnet;
— 5.3 „Prüfgerät mit ebener Grundplatte“: Die zulässige Abweichung für eine „L“-förmige Vorrichtung aus
Stahl wurde auf ±0,000 18 rad (0,01°) angepasst;
— 5.5 „Verschiebbare Messuhr“: Die zulässige Abweichung für den Winkel zwischen dem zweiten Index-
streifen und dem horizontalen Indexstreifen wurde, in Analogie zu 5.3, auf ±0,000 18 rad (0,01°)
angepasst;
— der Abschnitt zur Präzision (zweite Ausgabe, Abschnitt 9) gilt nicht mehr und wurde entfernt.

1 Anwendungsbereich
Diese Internationale Norm legt Verfahren zur Bestimmung der Kantenlängen, Kantengeradheit und
Rechtwinkligkeit von elastischen oder textilen Bodenplatten fest.
Die Kantenlängen, Geradheit und Rechtwinkligkeit elastischer oder textiler Bodenplatten sind wichtige
Faktoren, denn ein verlegter Bodenbelag weist ein unzulässiges Erscheinungsbild auf, wenn diese Leistungs-
kriterien nicht eingehalten werden. Das kann dazu führen, dass die verlegten Platten uneben ausgerichtet
sind und dabei unansehnliche Nähte und Kanten ausbilden, die nicht aneinanderpassen.
