This part of ISO 1833 specifies a method, using xylene, to determine the percentage of polypropylene, after removal of non-fibrous matter, in textiles made of binary mixtures of - polypropylene fibres and - wool, animal hair, silk, cotton, viscose, cupro, modal, acetate, triacetate, polyamide, polyester, acrylic and glass fibres.

-   Polypropylenfasern
und
-   Wolle, Tierhaar, Seide, Baumwolle, Viskose, Cupro, Modal, Acetat, Triacetat, Polyamid, Polyester, Polyacryl und Glasfasern
festlegt.

L'ISO 1833-16:2006 spécifie une méthode de détermination, au xylène, du pourcentage de polypropylène, après élimination des matières non fibreuses, dans les textiles composés de mélanges binaires de fibres de polypropylène et de laine, poils d'animaux, soie, coton, viscose, cupro, modal, acétate, triacétate, polyamide, polyester, acrylique et fibres de verre.

International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and has been taken over as EN ISO 1833-16:2010 by
Technical Committee CEN/TC 248 “Textiles and textile products” the secretariat of which is held by BSI.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical
text or by endorsement, at the latest by April 2011, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the
latest by April 2011.
