Automotive fuels - Assessment of petrol and diesel fuel quality - Sampling from retail site pumps and commercial site fuel dispensers
This standard specifies a procedure for drawing, from fuel dispensers, samples of petrol and diesel fuel to be used for the assessment of automotive fuel quality in accordance with EN 14274. This standard does not cover the sampling of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG).
NOTE When petrol is sampled, it is recommended that the pre-treatment of the sample containers and their transportation be set out as in the NOTE in Clause 6.

Diese Norm legt ein Verfahren für die Entnahme von Proben von Otto- und Dieselkraftstoffen aus Zapfsäulen für den Kraftstoffqualitätsnachweis (FQMS) nach EN 14274 fest. Diese Norm behandelt nicht die Probenahme von Flüssiggas (LPG).
ANMERKUNG Bei der Probenahme von Ottokraftstoff wird empfohlen, dass die Vorbehandlung der Probenbehälter und ihr Transport so durchgeführt werden, wie es in der Anmerkung in Abschnitt 6 dargestellt ist.
WARNUNG - Bei der Anwendung dieser Norm kann das Benutzen gefährlicher Substanzen und Ausrüstungen sowie das Durchführen gefährlicher Tätigkeiten erforderlich werden. La présente Norme européenne prescrit une procédure d'échantillonnage des essences auto et des carburants diesel (gazole) au niveau des points de distribution, pour utilisation dans le cadre du FQMS décrit dans prEN 14274. La présente norme ne couvre pas le cas de l'échantillonnage du GPL.
Les organismes chargés de l'échantillonnage doivent etre accrédités selon l'EN 45004.
NOTE Lorsque l'opération d'échantillonnage concerne de l'essence auto, il est recommandé de procéder comme indiqué au premier alinéa de l'article 6 pour le prétraitement des récipients et leur transport.

The containers shall be equipped with an external fitting to enable them to be sealed. The containershall not have been treated with a petroleum-based rust-preventative.NOTELead solder may be used for the attachment of external fittings.4.2 ClosuresThese shall be able to retain the integrity of the sample. Insert disks may additionally be used to close the containeroutlet. Suitable closures include screw caps fitted with a washer resistant to the product being sampled. EN 14275:2003 (E)55Safety requirements5.1The following minimum safety requirements shall be read in conjunction with the requirements for safety asgiven in prEN ISO 3170 and, in addition, any national or local safety, environmental and transportation regulations.5.2Personnel drawing the samples shall be made aware of the potential hazards and be given instructions insafety precautions to be observed as set out in the Materials Safety Data Sheet.5.3Care shall be taken to avoid breathing petroleum vapours during the sampling. Protective gloves ofhydrocarbon-insoluble materials, eye protection and clothing suitable to provide protection against all knownhazards associated with the product shall be worn.5.4In order to avoid static electricity risks, special precautions shall be taken during the sampling operation.5.4.1Sampling shall not be carried out during periods of atmospheric electrical disturbance or hailstorms.5.4.2Foot wear and/or clothing capable of causing sparks shall not be worn in areas where flammable vapoursare likely to be present.5.4.3In order to earth any static charge on their person, the person taking the samples shall touch some part ofthe fuel dispensing s
