Applies to control and protective switching devices (or equipment) (CPS), the main contacts of which are intended to be connected to circuits of rated voltage not exceeding 1 000 V a.c. or 1 500 V d.c. CPSs are intended to provide both protective and control functions for circuits and are operated otherwise than by hand. They may also fulfil additional functions, such as isolation.

Est applicable aux appareils (ou aux matériels) de connexion de commande et de protection (ACP), dont les contacts principaux sont destinés à être reliés à des circuits dont la tension assignée n'est pas supérieure a 1 000 V en courant alternatif ou 1 500 V en courant continu. Les ACP sont destinés à assurer à la fois les fonctions de commande et de protection et peuvent aussi assurer des fonctions complémentaires telles que le sectionnement.

Uporablja se za krmilne in zaščitne stikalne naprave (ali opremo) (CPS), katerih glavni kontakti so namenjeni za povezavo s tokokrogi, katerih nazivna napetost ne presega 1000 V izmenične ali 1500 V enosmerne napetosti. Centralni napajalni sistemi so namenjeni za zagotavljanje tako zaščitnih kot nadzornih funkcij za tokokroge in se jih ne upravlja ročno. Prav tako lahko opravljajo dodatne funkcije, kot je izolacija.

voltage switchgear and controlgear" of IEC/TC 121 "Switchgear and controlgear and their assemblies
for low voltage" was submitted to the IEC-CENELEC parallel vote and approved by CENELEC as
EN IEC 60947-6-2:2023.
The following dates are fixed:
• latest date by which the document has to be implemented at national (dop) 2023-12-03
level by publication of an identical national standard or by endorsement
• latest date by which the national standards conflicting with the (dow) 2026-03-03
document have to be withdrawn
This document supersedes EN 60947-6-2:2003 and all of its amendments and corrigenda (if any).
