Powered industrial trucks- Visibility - Test methods and verification - Part 4 : Industrial variable reach trucks up to and including 10 000 kg capacity

This European Standard specifies the requirements and test procedures of 360° visibility of sit on self-propelled variable reach industrial counterbalance trucks (herein after referred to as truck) with a capacity ≤ 10 000 kg in accordance with ISO 5053-1 and is intended be used in conjunction with FprEN 16842-1.
Where specific requirements in this part are modified from the general requirements in FprEN 16842-1, the requirements of this part are truck specific and to be used for self-propelled industrial order-picking, lateral- and front-stacking trucks with elevating operator position.
This part of EN 16842 deals with all significant hazards, hazardous situations or hazardous events as listed in Annex ZA, Table ZA.1, relevant to the visibility of the operator for applicable machines when used as intended and under conditions of misuse which are reasonably foreseeable by the manufacturer.

Diese Europäische Norm legt die Anforderungen und Prüfverfahren für die Rundumsicht (360°) von motorkraftbetriebenen Gegengewichtstaplern mit veränderlicher Reichweite, Fahrersitz (im Folgenden als Flurförderzeug bezeichnet) und einer Nenntragfähigkeit ≤ 10 000 kg in Übereinstimmung mit ISO 5053 1 fest und soll in Verbindung mit FprEN 16842 1 verwendet werden.
Wenn spezifische Anforderungen in diesem Teil von den allgemeinen Anforderungen in FprEN 16842 1 abweichen, sind die Anforderungen in diesem Teil für das Flurförderzeug spezifisch und für motorkraftbetriebene Kommissionier- und Dreiseitenflurförderzeuge mit einem hebbaren Fahrerplatz zu verwenden.
Dieser Teil von EN 16842 behandelt alle in Anhang ZA, Tabelle ZA.1 aufgeführten signifikanten Gefährdungen, Gefährdungssituationen oder Gefährdungsereignisse, die für die Sichtverhältnisse des Bedieners bei vorgesehener Nutzung der betreffenden Maschinen unter normalen Umständen bei durch den Hersteller vorhersehbaren Fehlanwendungen relevant sind.

La présente Norme européenne spécifie les prescriptions et les modes opératoires relatifs à la visibilité sur 360° des chariots de manutention automoteurs à portée variable  en porte-à-faux à conducteur assis (ci-après désignés chariot) ayant une capacité ≤ 10 000 kg conformes à l'ISO 5053-1, et est destinée à être utilisée conjointement avec le FprEN 16842-1.
Lorsque des prescriptions spécifiques de la présente partie sont modifiées par rapport aux prescriptions générales du FprEN 16842-1, les prescriptions de la présente partie sont spécifiques au chariot et sont à utiliser pour les préparateurs de commande, les chariots à prise latérale et frontale automoteurs ayant un poste de conduite élevable.
La présente partie de l'EN 16842 traite de tous les phénomènes dangereux, situations dangereuses ou événements dangereux significatifs énumérés à l'Annexe ZA, Tableau ZA.1, relatifs à la visibilité du conducteur pour les machines concernées lorsqu'elles sont utilisées comme prévu et dans des conditions de mauvaise utilisation raisonnablement prévisible par le fabricant.

Ta evropski standard določa zahteve in preskusne postopke za 360-stopinjsko vidno polje voznika pri samognanih spremenljivih industrijskih tovornih vozilih s kontejnerji (v nadaljevanju »vozilo«) z zmogljivostjo ≤ 10.000 kg v skladu s standardom ISO 5053-1 ter je namenjen za uporabo skupaj s standardom FprEN 16842-1.
Kjer so posebne zahteve v tem delu spremenjene tako, da se razlikujejo od splošnih zahtev v standardu FprEN 16842-1, so zahteve iz tega dela posebne zahteve za vozila in se uporabljajo za samognane industrijske tovorne in tristrane viličarje z dvižnim položajem upravljavca.

— Part 7: Variable-reach and masted container trucks handling freight containers of 6 m (20 ft) length
and longer;
— Part 8: Stand on counterbalance trucks up to and including 10 000 kg capacity (in preparation);
— Part 9: Order-picking, lateral- and front-stacking trucks with elevating operator position
— Part 10: Towing and pushing tractors and burden carrier;
It is intended to develop additional parts related to the following machinery:

— Burden and personnel carrier;
— Tractor (IND Truck);
— Single side loader;
— Multi-directional forklift truck;
— Articulated counterbalance lift truck;
— Low lift straddle carriers (as defined in ISO 5053-1:2015, 3.18);
— High lift straddle carriers (as defined in ISO 5053-1:2015, 3.19).

Introduction
This document is a type-C standard as stated in EN ISO 12100.
This document is of relevance, in particular, for the following stakeholder groups representing
the market players with regard to machinery safety:
— machine manufacturers (small, medium and large enterprises);
— health and safety bodies (regulators, accident prevention organizations, market
surveillance, etc.).
Others can be affected by the level of machinery safety achieved with the means of the
document by the above-mentioned stakeholder groups:
— machine users/employers (small, medium and large enterprises);
— machine users/employees (e.g. trade unions, organizations for people with special needs);
— service providers, e.g. for maintenance (small, medium and large enterprises);
— consumers (in case of machinery intended for use by consumers).
The above-mentioned stakeholder groups have been given the possibility to participate at the
drafting process of this document.
The machinery concerned and the extent to which hazards, hazardous situations or hazardous
events are covered are indicated in the Scope of this document.
When requirements of this type-C standard are different from those which are stated in type-A
or type-B standards, the requirements of this type-C standard take precedence over the
requirements of the other standards for machines that have been designed and built according
to the requirements of this type-C standard.
