CLC/TC 100X(OLD) - Audio, video and multimedia systems and equipment
- To monitor, coordinate and allocate the work in the field of Audio, Video and Multimedia systems and equipment, primarily within the scopes and working areas of CENELEC Technical Bodies currently involved. - To establish a focal point for coordination with ICTSB (including EPIC), CEN, ETSI, European Commission, European industrial associations and consortia and other interested parties. - To ensure that European market requirements are recognized as the major driving force for standardization in this area and can also be used for international standardization. - To take care that European proposals are submitted for standardization work to IEC/TC 100 for international standardization. - To take care that IEC/TC 100 is kept informed of European requirements so that they may be considered for inclusions in IEC standards within the responsibility of IEC/TC 100 and all its Sub-Committees. - To take care that any deviation from the IEC standards, such as common modifications, is only in response to a clear and justifiable European need. - In principle TC 100X does not make its own standards. - To take care that European Standards will be prepared by one of the concerned bodies for special European needs
