Den ersten Satz durch den folgenden ersetzen.
„Dieses Dokument, das zusammen mit ISO 4254 1 anzuwenden ist, enthält sicherheitstechnische Anforderungen und deren Überprüfung für die Gestaltung und Konstruktion von selbstfahrenden und gezogenen Sammelpressen, einschließlich der Kombination aus Sammelpressen mit Ballenwicklern, die in der Landwirtschaft zum Pressen von Erntegut (z. This amendment A1 modifies the European Standard EN ISO 4254-11:2010; it was approved by CEN on 28 July 2019.

this amendment into the relevant national standard without any alteration. Up-to-date lists and bibliographical references
concerning such national standards may be obtained on application to the CEN-CENELEC Management Centre or to any CEN

This amendment exists in three official versions (English, French, German). A version in any other language made by translation
under the responsibility of a CEN member into its own language and notified to the CEN-CENELEC Management Centre has the

This document (EN ISO 4254-11:2010/A1:2020) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 23
"Tractors and machinery for agriculture and forestry" in collaboration with Technical Committee
CEN/TC 144 “Tractors and machinery for agriculture and forestry” the secretariat of which is held by
AFNOR.
This Amendment to the European Standard EN ISO 4254-11:2010 shall be given the status of a national
standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by August 2020, and
conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by August 2021.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of
patent rights. CEN shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.

Relationship between this European Standard and the Essential
Requirements of EU Directive 2006/42/EC amended by Directive
2009/127/EC aimed to be covered
This European Standard has been prepared under a Commission’s standardization request M/396 to to
CEN and CENELEC for standardization in field of machinery to provide one voluntary means of
conforming to Essential requirements of the New Approach Directive 2006/42/EC of the European
Parliament and of the Council of 17 May 2016 on machinery, and amending Directive 95/16/EC (recast)
and amended by Directive 2009/127/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 21 October
2009 amending Directive 2006/42/EC with regard to machinery for pesticide application (Text with
EEA relevance).
Once this standard is cited in the Official Journal of the European Union under that Directive,
compliance with the normative clauses of this standard confers, within the limits of the scope of this
standard, a presumption of conformity with the corresponding Essential Requirements of that
Directive, and associated EFTA regulations.

Scope, first paragraph
Replace the first sentence with the following.
This document, intended to be used together with ISO 4254-1, specifies the safety requirements
and their verification for the design and construction of self-propelled and trailed pick-up balers,
including when combined with bale wrappers, used in agriculture for pressing of material (such as
forage, feedstock, straw), independent of the shape or size of the bales formed.
Second paragraph
Move the second paragraph just after the NOTE as new fourth paragraph.
Third paragraph
Replace the present text with the following.

Foreword
ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national standards
bodies (ISO member bodies). The work of preparing International Standards is normally carried out
through ISO technical committees. Each member body interested in a subject for which a technical
committee has been established has the right to be represented on that committee. International

Pick-up balers
AMENDMENT 1
Scope, first paragraph
Replace the first sentence with the following.
This document, intended to be used together with ISO 4254-1, specifies the safety requirements
and their verification for the design and construction of self-propelled and trailed pick-up balers,
including when combined with bale wrappers, used in agriculture for pressing of material (such as
forage, feedstock, straw), independent of the shape or size of the bales formed.
Second paragraph
Move the second paragraph just after the NOTE as new fourth paragraph.
Third paragraph
Replace the present text with the following.
This document, taken together with ISO 4254-1, deals with all the significant hazards (as listed
in Table 1), hazardous situations and events relevant to self-propelled and trailed pick-up balers
and for balers when combined with bale wrappers, when they are used as intended and under the
conditions of misuse that are reasonably foreseeable by the manufacturer (see Clause 4).
