The present document describes the architecture of the Network Attachment Subsystem (NASS) and its role in the TISPAN NGN architecture as defined in ES 282 001 [2].

The present document describes the functional architecture of the Resource and Admission Control Subsystem (RACS), for TISPAN NGN Release 3, in line with the service requirements described in TS 181 005 [1], in line with the QoS Requirements described in TS 181 018 [13] and its role in the TISPAN NGN architecture as defined in ES 282 001 [2]. It specifies as well high level stage 2 requirements that are also considered when describing its functional operation.

The present document provides the ETSI TISPAN endorsement of the 3GPP TS 29.332 [1] "3rd Generation Partnership Project; Technical Specification Group Core Network and Terminals; Media Gateway Control Function (MGCF) – IM Media Gateway; Mn Interface (Release 7)". The present document provides the necessary adaptations to the above specification, in order to comply with the requirements of TISPAN NGN Release 2.

As part of the transfer of common IMS material to 3GPP, produce a release 2 version of existing release 1 specification (as modified to refer to 3GPP parallel specification) with identical contents to the release 1.

The present document provides the stage 3 specification of the Rq interface. The functional requirements and the stage 2 specifications of the Rq interface are contained in ES 282 001 [1] and ES 282 003 [2]. As part of the transfer of common IMS material to 3GPP, replace contents of this specification by an undated  reference to the identical 3GPP technical specification 24.503 release 8. There is no technical change to the specification as a result of this work item, although future essential changes to the 3GPP specification can result in technical modification.

The present document defines a profile of the Gateway Control Protocol (H.248.1) to be used for controlling Border Gateway Functions (BGF), as defined in ES 282 003 [3].
