ISO/TC 152 - Gypgum, gypsum plasters and gypsum products

Relates to gypsum plasterboard intended to be used as a vertical or horizontal lining in buildings, excluding that which has been subjected to secondary manufacturing operations. Includes boards manufactured to receive either direct surface decoration or gypsum plaster finishes. Specifies the general characteristics of the boards and appropriate test methods and defines types and their various applications.

Gives the specifications for gypsum rock used as raw material for the manufacture of calcium sulphate binders, or as an admixture in the manufacture of other kinds of binders. Covers classification, acceptance and delivery, sampling, and test methods of the product.

Specifies the general test conditions applicable to gypsum plasters. Describes, i.a., reference tests, test atmosphere, water used, appliances and apparatus, and routine tests.

Specifies a gravimetric method for the determination of the water of crystallization content of gypsum plasters. Describes also the principle, the apparatus, the preparation of the sample, the procedure, the expression of results, and the test report.

Specifies methods for determining certain mechanical properties of gypsum plasters, namely flexural strength, compressive strength and hardness. The tests specified apply only to gypsum plasters, requiring for their use only the addition of water. Covers also moulds and specimens, preparation and storage of specimens, test procedure and test apparatus.

Specifies methods for determining certain physical properties of gypsum plasters in powder form, i.a., fineness of grinding and non-compacted bulk density. Describes also the preparation of the test sample and the test apparatus.
