ISO/TC 24/SC 8/WG 1 - Test sieves and sieving

ISO 3310-1:2016 specifies the technical requirements and corresponding test methods for test sieves of metal wire cloth. It applies to test sieves having aperture sizes from 125 mm down to 20 µm, in accordance with ISO 565.

ISO 3310-2:2013 specifies the technical requirements and corresponding test methods for test sieves of perforated metal plate. It applies to test sieves having round holes, with sizes from 125 mm down to 1 mm, or square holes, with sizes from 125 mm down to 4 mm, in accordance with ISO 565.

Applies to metal wire cloth with square openings and perforated plates or sheets with square or circular openings. Tables include principal sizes and supplementary sizes. Sizes of 1 mm and above shall be expressed in millimetres and sizes below 1 mm in micrometres.

Describes the main factors affecting test sieving and the results obtained. Specifies general principles to be followed concerning apparatus, procedure and presentation of results. Applies to methods in which test sieves of woven wire cloth or perforated metal plate are used. This edition of ISO 2591-1 cancels and replaces in part ISO 2591:1973.
