IEC 61010-2-030:2010 specifies safety requirements for testing and measuring circuits which are connected for test or measurement purposes to devices or circuits outside the measurement equipment itself. These include measurement circuits which are part of electrical test and measurement equipment, laboratory equipment, or process control equipment. The existence of these circuits in equipment requires additional protective means between the circuit and an OPERATOR. This Part 2-030 is to be used in conjunction with the latest edition of IEC 61010-1. It was established on the basis of the third edition (2010) of IEC 61010-1. Consideration may be given to future editions of, or amendments to, IEC 61010-1.

Applies only to electrically powered laboratory equipment for the heating of materials but excludes equipment for the heating and ventilation of laboratories and sterilizing equipment. Has the status of a group safety publication in accordance with IEC Guide 104.

Applies to electrically powered laboratory atomic spectrometers with thermal atomization, including atomic absorption spectrometers, emission flame photometers, atomic fluorescence spectrophotometers, inductively coupled plasma spectrometers, microwave coupled plasma spectrometers, and mass spectrometers, all with thermal atomization and ionization (including tubing and connectors which are provided by the manufacturer for connection to external supplies). This publication has the status of a group safety publication in accordance with IEC Guide 104.

Applies to electrically operated laboratory equipment and its accessories for mechanical mixing and stirring, where mechanical energy influences the shape or size or homogeneity of materials and their accessories. The requirements for equipment which contain heating devices are given in EN 61010-2-010. This publication has the status of a group safety publication in accordance with IEC Guide 104.

Applies to the specification of performance, with primary reference to industrial applications, of the following kinds of electrical and electronic equipment:[
]- indicating and recording instruments which measure electrical quantities;[
]- material measures which supply electrical quantities;[
]- instruments which measure non-electrical quantities using electrical means, for all parts of the measuring chain which present electrical output signals.[
]It is based on the methods expounded in GUM for expressing and evaluating the uncertainty of measurement, and refers to GUM for the statistical procedures to be used in determining the intervals assigned to represent uncertainty (including the way to account for non-negligible uncertainties in the traceability chain).[
]The object is to provide methods for ensuring uniformity in the specification and determination of uncertainties of equipment within its scope. All other necessary requirements have been reserved for dependent IEC product standards pertaining to particular types of equipment which fall within the scope of this standard.

Applies to hand-held and hand-manipulated CURRENT CLAMPS. These CURRENT CLAMPS are for use in the measurement of current without interruption of the current path of the circuit in which it is measured. They may be stand-alone CURRENT CLAMPS which are themselves within the scope of part 1, or accessories to other equipment within the scope of part 1. This standard does not apply to current transformers or current transducers intended for fixed installations.

Applies to the following hand-held and hand-manipulated probe assemblies: -low-voltage and high-voltage, non-attenuating probe assemblies (type A) -high-voltage attenuating or divider probe assemblies (type B) -low-voltage attenuating or divider probe assemblies (type C). Has the status of a group safety publication in accordance with IEC Guide 104.

Specifies general safety requirements for electrical equipment intended for professional, industrial process, and educational use, including equipment and computing devices for: -measurement and test; -control; -laboratory use; -accessories intended for use with this equipment. Does not cover: -reliable function, performance or other properties of the equipment; -servicing (repair); -protection of servicing (repair) personnel.
