Electronic devices have always taken an active part in the daily life of every person. At the dawn of the development of the post-industrial stage, the issue of automation and innovative development at enterprises of various sizes began to be subject to a clear regulatory and legal framework, which in turn both creates restrictions and carries the potential for development in scaling up the business. Today, the introduction and use of electronic equipment is an integral part of both small and medium-sized businesses and large corporate structures. The increased level of competition always requires permanent development and adaptation to new market requirements, which is why it is important to stay abreast of the latest norms and requirements, which are primarily responsible for the quality of the goods and services produced. Today, the main document that prescribes norms at the international level for various industries and equipment used in them are international standards. Today we will present you with a list of the most relevant international standards for 2020-2021 that regulate electrical equipment.

Gel permeation chromatography (GPC) - Part 1: Tetrahydrofuran (THF) as eluent (ISO 13885-1: 2020)

EN ISO 22553-1: 2020

Industrial processes and the introduction of equipment into their structures always require a step-by-step recommendation guide. When it comes to interaction between countries or the introduction of imported equipment, the issue of having a high-quality regulatory framework is on the agenda. In the case when this situation arises with electronic equipment that can be used in various industries, such international documents as EN ISO 22553-1: 2020 come to the rescue.

This document defines terms for electro-deposition coatings. It is applicable to electro-deposition coatings for automotive industries and other general industrial applications, e.g. chiller units, consumer products, radiators, aerospace, agriculture.

This international document can be applied in several industries that are not interrelated in their specialization. Nevertheless, the specificity of this document lies in the fact that it focuses on the regulation of rules and regulations associated with the use and implementation of specific equipment, which makes it possible to clearly understand the scope of its regulatory specificity.

Gel permeation chromatography (GPC) - Part 2: N, N-Dimenthylacetamide (DMAC) as eluent (ISO 13885-2: 2020)

EN ISO 13885-2: 2021

Chemical and physical processes are an integral part of the process of building a system of interaction between systems based on electrical characteristics. Moreover, it should be noted that the complexity of the approach to resolving the regulatory framework in relation to these issues is increasing every day, and therefore requires appropriate documentation. It is then that international standards such as EN ISO 13885-2: 2021 come to the rescue.

This document specifies the determination of the molar-mass distribution and the average molar mass values Mn (number average) and Mw (weight average) of polymers that are soluble in DMAC (N, N-Dimethylacetamide) by gel permeation chromatography (GPC). NOTE Also known as size exclusion chromatography (SEC). Even though the chromatograms obtained show good repeatability, it is possible that this method cannot be used with certain polymer types because of specific interactions (e.g. adsorption) within the sample / eluent / column system. The conditions specified in this document are not applicable to the GPC analysis of polymer samples with Mw values greater than 106 g / mol and / or polymers with elution limits outside the calibration range (see 7.6 and Annex C). This document includes no correction method (e.g. for the elimination of peak broadening). If absolute molar mass values are required, an absolute method (e.g. membrane osmometry for Mn or light scattering for Mw) can be used.

Detailed technological characteristics of this document allow you to check their requirements with the regulatory framework of your organization, as well as with the requirements for the operation of equipment used at your enterprise. That is why the availability of international standards significantly minimizes possible both financial and physical risks at your enterprise or organization.

Gel permeation chromatography (GPC) - Part 3: Water as eluent (ISO 13885-3: 2020)

EN ISO 13885-3: 2020.

Considering the issue of building a system of electrical equipment as well as larger-scale production, there is a need for documentation that regulates absolutely every stage. We have already mentioned more than once the interaction of physical and chemical elements in the process of building a corporate structure, or rather, in the process of building its production facilities. When it comes to the processes associated with the introduction of water into systems that interact with electricity, one of the most relevant regulatory acts today is the international standard EN ISO 13885-3: 2020.

This document specifies the determination of the molar-mass distribution and the average molar mass values Mn (number average) and Mw (weight average) of polymers that are soluble in water by gel permeation chromatography (GPC). NOTE Also known as size exclusion chromatography (SEC). This method is applicable to neutral polymers and polyanions (e.g. polycarboxylates, polysaccharides, fully hydrolyzed polyvinyl alcohols and high-molecular polyethylene oxides). It is not applicable to polycations [e.g. polyvinylpyrrolidone, polyvinylpyridine, salts of poly (diallyl N, N dimethyl azacyclopentane), chitosan]. Despite good solubility in the mobile phase and even though the chromatograms obtained show good repeatability, it is possible that this method cannot be used with certain polymer types because of specific interactions (eg adsorption) within the sample / eluent / column system (see also Clause 12). The conditions specified in this document are not applicable to the GPC analysis of polymer samples with Mw values greater than 106 g / mol and / or polymers with elution limits outside the calibration range (see 7.6 and Annex C). This document includes no correction methods (e.g. for the elimination of peak broadening). If absolute molar mass values are required, an absolute method (e.g. membrane osmometry for Mn or light scattering for Mw) can be used.

Chemical elements are the basis for the formation of any system, therefore, the influence of the molecular level on the construction of global mechanical and electronic systems cannot be underestimated. The introduction of international standardization at each stage of the activities carried out will increase the rate of scaling and the number of possible vectors of the company's movement.

Paints and varnishes - Electro-deposition coatings - Part 8: Electric charge density (ISO 22553-8: 2020)

EN ISO 22553-8: 2021

Despite the fact that electrical equipment is mainly subject to regulation from a technological point of view, the institutes of international standardization do not leave aside the design of equipment and related parts. It is for such uncommon, but nevertheless significant cases such international documents as EN ISO 22553-8: 2021 are created.

This document specifies a method for determining the electric charge density of an electro-deposition coating (e coat) for automotive industries and other general industrial applications, e.g. chiller units, consumer products, radiators, aerospace, agriculture.

The coating of elements of electrical equipment affects not only the external characteristics, but primarily on safety issues. Since the decorative elements (paints, rubber, cladding) have a different chemical composition, therefore, when the temperatures are heated, each changes its characteristics and state to a different degree. That is why if you are concerned about security issues, this International Standard is a must.

The need for regulatory support

As mentioned above, each International Standard has a number of clearly defined indicators that affect the implementation and operation of equipment. Moreover, separate parts of the same document can be absolutely oppositely applied in related areas. Quality is a key element in the promotion of an enterprise or organization, which makes it possible to plan the stages of entering more global and large-scale markets with minimization of possible risks of non-compliance with legal requirements between states. The international documents given in today's guidelines have a major impact on the size of the markets of the European Union. If your company or organization operates in a territory that is outside the EU, and as a result requires more global standards, you can familiarize yourself with the list of all available documents on our website and purchase exactly the document that will be relevant for your area of business activities.
