For every capability, the profile requirements are expressed by restriction uponallowed support answers in ETS 300 474-1 [9] depending on whether the implementation supports onlyARI class D or ARI class D and any of ARI classes A, B or C. The Profile RL is produced by copyingselected tables and/or table rows from ETS 300 474-1 [9] or ETS 300 476-1 [5] (e.g. if a table is notpresent in ETS 300 474-1 [9] because of having the same status as in ETS 300 476-1 [5]), removing thecolumn(s) to be completed by the supplier, and adding a new set of columns giving the new profilerequirements, both in terms of the status and allowed values.Profile status columnA profile status column is provided - for PPs in association with ARI class D.The standardized symbols for the status column are as follows:m or Mmandatory - the capability is required to be supported.o or Ooptional - the capability may be supported or not.n/a or N/Anot applicable - in the given context, it is impossible to use the capability.x or Xprohibited (excluded) - there is a requirement not to use this capability in thegiven context.o.i or O.iqualified optional - for mutually exclusive or selectable options from a set. "i" isan integer which identifies an unique group of related optional items and thelogic of their selection which is defined immediately following the table.ci or Ciconditional - the requirement on the capability ("m", "o", "x" or "n/a") depends onthe support of other optional or conditional items. "i" is an integer identifying anunique conditional status expression which is defined immediately following thetable or which is defined in the general condition table below.i or Iout-of-scope - this capability is outside the scope of the given specification, andhence irrelevant and not subject to conformance testing. This status is inparticular applicable for data fields which are reserved for future use. Thestructure of such fields has to be supported, but the value is undefined and thusto be ignored.SIST ETS 300 704-1:2001

requirements from ETS 300 474-1 [9], and with the replacements from annex A; and
- a copy of the Profile specific ICS proforma provided in the annex B; and
- a copy of the PICS proforma ETS 300 476 parts 1, 2, 3 and 7 [5] - [8], updated with the
requirements from ETS 300 474-1 [9].
NOTE: All DECT speech applications will also conform to the minimum requirements of
ETS 300 444 [2].
2 Normative references
This ETS incorporates, by dated or undated reference, provisions from other publications. These
normative references are cited at the appropriate places in the text and the publications are listed

Annex A (normative): Requirement lists for DECT PT
A.1 General
The supplier of a protocol implementation which is claimed to conform to the PT specific requirements of
ETS 300 370 [4] shall verify that the protocol implementation meets the profile RL.
For this, the supplier shall complete a copy of:
a) the NWK layer PICS proforma contained in annex A of ETS 300 476-1 [5] updated with the GAP
requirements for NWK layer from ETS 300 474-1 [9], and, updated with the requirements for the
NWK layer from this annex;
b) the DLC layer PICS proforma contained in annex A of ETS 300 476-2 [6] updated with the GAP
requirements for DLC layer from ETS 300 474-1 [9];
c) the MAC layer PICS proforma contained in annex A of ETS 300 476-3 [7] updated with the GAP
requirements for MAC layer from ETS 300 474-1 [9];
d) the PHL layer PICS proforma contained in annex A of ETS 300 476-7 [8] updated with the GAP
requirements for PHL layer from ETS 300 474-1 [9].
A.1.1 Profile Requirement List (Profile RL)
The Profile RL for the NWK layer as defined in this annex is based on ETS 300 476-1 [5] and
ETS 300 474-1 [9]. For every capability, the profile requirements are expressed by restriction upon
allowed support answers in ETS 300 474-1 [9] depending on whether the implementation supports only
ARI class D or ARI class D and any of ARI classes A, B or C. The Profile RL is produced by copying
selected tables and/or table rows from ETS 300 474-1 [9] or ETS 300 476-1 [5] (e.g. if a table is not
present in ETS 300 474-1 [9] because of having the same status as in ETS 300 476-1 [5]), removing the
column(s) to be completed by the supplier, and adding a new set of columns giving the new profile
requirements, both in terms of the status and allowed values.
Profile status column
A profile status column is provided - for PPs in association with ARI class D.
The standardized symbols for the status column are as follows:
m or M mandatory - the capability is required to be supported.
o or O optional - the capability may be supported or not.
n/a or N/A not applicable - in the given context, it is impossible to use the capability.
x or X prohibited (excluded) - there is a requirement not to use this capability in the
given context.
o.i or O.i qualified optional - for mutually exclusive or selectable options from a set. "i" is
an integer which identifies an unique group of related optional items and the
logic of their selection which is defined immediately following the table.
ci or Ci conditional - the requirement on the capability ("m", "o", "x" or "n/a") depends on
the support of other optional or conditional items. "i" is an integer identifying an
unique conditional status expression which is defined immediately following the
table or which is defined in the general condition table below.
i or I out-of-scope - this capability is outside the scope of the given specification, and
hence irrelevant and not subject to conformance testing. This status is in
particular applicable for data fields which are reserved for future use. The
structure of such fields has to be supported, but the value is undefined and thus
to be ignored.

Reference column
The reference column gives reference to ETS 300 370 [4], except where explicitly stated otherwise.
A.1.2 General questions/assumptions
This subclause contains general assumptions that expand all over annex A.
Table A.1: General condition table
Condition identifier Condition definition
Note 1 The status of the relevant item is exactly as the status of this item in
ETS 300 474-1 [9] or ETS 300 476 Parts 1, 2, 3 and 7 [5] - [8]. The item has
been included as the Profile reference column includes reference to the
profile that describes the item more in detail.
A.2 NWK - PT: Profile Requirement List (Profile RL)
A.2.1 Major capabilities
A.2.1.1 Call Control (CC) features
To express the profile requirements of ETS 300 370 [4], table A.2 indicates the change of status for
support of NWK layer CC features.
NOTE: Although the notation "features" is not an ETS 300 370 [4] notation, features have
been used here as a higher level of grouping of procedures. For consistency reason
some features may comprise only one procedure.
