Modular mechanical locked floor coverings (MMF) - Specification, requirements and test method for multilayer modular panels for floating installation

This European Standard specifies the characteristics of multilayer mechanical locked floor covering with a wear‐resistant and decorative surface layer supplied in panels (either tile or plank form). The floor panels are considered suitable for domestic and commercial levels of use and designed for floating installation.

Dieses Dokument legt die Eigenschaften von mehrschichtigen mechanisch verriegelnden Fußbodenbelägen mit einer abriebbeständigen und dekorativen Deckschicht fest, die als Paneele (in Fliesen- oder Dielenform) geliefert werden. Die Fußbodenpaneele werden für den Gebrauch im privaten und gewerblichen Bereich als geeignet angesehen und sind für schwimmende Verlegungen vorgesehen.
Dieses Dokument gilt nicht für elastische Fußbodenpaneele für lose Verlegung nach EN ISO 20326, für Mehrschichtparkettelemente nach EN 13489, für furnierte Fußbodenbeläge nach EN 14354, für Laminat-böden nach EN 13329, EN 14978 und EN 15468, sowie für Produkte nach EN ISO 10581, EN ISO 10582, EN ISO 24011, EN 12104 und ISO 14486.
Dieses Dokument gilt für Bereiche, die regelmäßig Nässe ausgesetzt sind, z. B. Badezimmer, Hauswirt-schaftsräume oder Saunen, nur wenn diese vom Hersteller festgelegt werden.
Dieses Dokument enthält auch Anforderungen an die Kennzeichnung und Verpackung.
In Anhang A (informativ) sind zusätzliche Eigenschaften angegeben. Anhang B (informativ) enthält ein Prüfverfahren zur Klassifizierung der Flexibilität.

Le présent document spécifie les caractéristiques des revêtements de sol modulaires à verrouillage mécanique, munis d'un parement décoratif et résistant à l'usure, fournis sous forme de panneaux (dalles ou lames). Ces panneaux de revêtement de sol sont considérés comme étant appropriés à des niveaux d'utilisation domestique et commerciale ; ils sont en outre conçus pour être mis en œuvre en pose flottante.
Le présent document ne s'applique pas aux panneaux de revêtement de sol résilients pour pose flottante conformes à l'EN ISO 20326, ni aux éléments de parquet contrecollés conformes à l'EN 13489, ni aux revêtements de sol à placage en bois conformes à l'EN 14354, ni aux revêtements de sol stratifiés conformes à l'EN 13329, à l'EN 14978 et à l'EN 15468 ni aux produits spécifiés dans l'EN ISO 10581, l'EN ISO 10582, l'EN ISO 24011, l'EN 12104 et l'ISO 14486.

This document (prEN 16511:2021) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 134 “Resilient,

textile and laminate floor coverings”, the secretariat of which is held by NBN.
This document is currently submitted to CEN Enquiry.
This document will supersede EN 16511:2014+A1:2019.
Compared to EN 16511:2014+A1:2019 the following changes have been made:
a) title changed;
b) terms and definitions added in Clause 3;
c) EN 17539 included as test method for general requirements in 4.1;

d) light fastness and dimensional stability added as general requirements in 4.1;

e) classification requirements divided in floorings with wear layers (Table 2) and floorings with non-

film-forming oil or wax finishes (Table 3);

f) additional technical characteristics for moisture resistance added as Table 4;

g) Annex B presenting a test method for the classification of the flexibility added.

1 Scope

This document specifies the characteristics of multilayer mechanical locked floor covering with a wear-

resistant and decorative surface layer supplied in panels (either tile or plank form). The floor panels are

considered suitable for domestic and commercial levels of use and designed for floating installation.

This document is not applicable to resilient floor panels for loose-laying according to EN ISO 20326, to

multilayer wood floorings according to EN 13489, to wood veneer floor coverings according to EN 14354,

to laminate floor covering according to EN 13329, EN 14978 and EN 15468 nor to products specified in

EN ISO 10581, EN ISO 10582, EN ISO 24011, EN 12104 and ISO 14486.

This document is applicable to areas which are subject to frequent wetting, e.g. bathrooms, laundry rooms

or saunas, only if specified by the producer.
This document also includes requirements for marking and packaging.

In Annex A (informative) optional properties are given. In Annex B (informative) a test method for the

classification of the flexibility is given.
