IEC 61300-2-56:2020 describes the test procedure to test the wind resistance of a protective housing and its mounting hardware using the fastening parts recommended by the manufacturer. The protective housing is considered to have a cuboid shape. The applied force in this test procedure simulates a steady wind load from each direction to a protective housing and its mounting hardware fixed to a support.

IEC 61300-3-55: 2020 provides methods for measuring the polarisation extinction ratio (PER) of single-mode, polarisation maintaining (PM) optical components based upon PM fibres. This document also provides methods for detecting the input and output orientation of the PM components' principal axes as well as methods for estimating the keying accuracy, i.e. the angular misalignment between the principal axes and the mechanical reference guide key of the connectors, if these are present.

IEC 61754-35: 2020 defines the standard connector interface dimensions for LSHE family of connectors with up to four termini. This connector family is targeting deployment under harsh environmental conditions.

IEC PAS 63267-3-31:2020 defines certain dimensional limits of a flat PC rectangular polyphenylene sulphide (PPS) ferrule optical interface in order to meet specific longitudinal offset requirements for fibre-to-fibre interconnection. Ferrules made from the material specified in this PAS are suitable for use in categories C, U, E, and O as defined in IEC 61753-1.
