Definition of the supplementary service calling line identification restriction for the PSTN

This TBR specifies the technical characteristics (electrical and acoustic requirements) under Article 4(g) of Directive 91/263/EEC to be provided by a single, handset telephony, terminal equipment which is intended: (a) for pan-European approval; and (b) for connection by 2-wires to an analogue interface of a PSTN. This interface is characterised by a d.c. loop to indicate seizure and clearing, low frequency a.c.ringing signals below the speech passband to indicate an incoming call and in the transmission phase has an approximate bandwidth of 3 kHz at the network termination point; and (c) for supporting the voice telephony justified case service. The 4th edition of this ETS will -   support class 3 and consider additional flow control on application basis, when there exists a need for it (by USBS, VPN); -   be aligned with the new revision of the ITU-T Recs on SCCP which may be approved in Feb. 96 (majaor items to be consideredare congestion handling, broadband SCCP aspects and extended SCCP addressing capabilities to support a number of new services; -   take into account the SCCP user guide Q.715.

This part of a set of ETSs on VB5 reference points specifies the physical, procedural and protocol requirements for the interfaces at the VB5.2 reference point between a broadband or combined narrowband & broadband access network and a service node. The access network shall support flexible (provisioned) VPC and VCC allocation and flexible VCC allocation on a connection by connection basis which provides flexible concentration capability at VC level within the access network and accross the VB5.2 reference point.

Core INAP for CS2 shall also reflect the Distributed Functional Plane (DFP), e.g. including the specification of BCSM, DP processing rules, FE modelling. The intention of this part of Core INAP for CS2 is, to endorse ITU-T Recommendation Q.1224 and to identify exceptions from Q.1224 which are valid for Core INAP for CS2. The service drivers and network aspects which are considered in order to determine the exceptions from Q.1224 are the same as described in the scope of part 1 for th eprotocol specification of core INAP for CS2, i.e. CTM, UPT, CTN, GVNS, Call Party Handling (CPH), Interworking of INAP with ISUP/DSS1.  Specification of this part shall be done in close co-operation with NA 6 since modelling aspects are to be considered.

To produce a version of INAP for CS2 Extension in order to cover the protocol procedures for the Camel Phase 2 requirements suitable for implementation in Europe. Close co-operation must be ensured with SMG3 with regard to Camel Phase 2 requirements. The specification should also address aspects of interaction between IN structured networks. The Camel Phase 2 defintions should be fully compatible with the existing CS1 INAP.
