ASTM D263-05(2019)
(Specification)Standard Specification for Chrome Oxide Green Pigment
Standard Specification for Chrome Oxide Green Pigment
ABSTRACT
This specification establishes the properties and requirements for the dry pigment commercially known as chrome oxide green. The pigment shall consist of practically pure chromium sesqui-oxide without any admixture. Specimens shall be sampled and tested adequately, and shall conform to the following composition requirements: total chromium; total water-soluble matter; moisture and other volatile matter; coarse particles (total residue retained on a No. 325 sieve); and organic colors or lakes. The pigments shall adhere to mass color, tint character, and tinting strength requirements as well.
SCOPE
1.1 This specification covers the dry pigment commercially known as chrome oxide green.
1.2 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as the standard. The values given in parentheses are for information only.
1.3 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.
