(Specification)Standard Specification for Brass Wire
Standard Specification for Brass Wire
ABSTRACT
This specification establishes the requirements for round, hexagonal, octagonal, rectangular and square brass wire of UNS Alloy Nos. C21000, C22000, C22600, C23000, C23400, C24000, C26000, C27000, and C27400. The chemical composition, temper, annealed wire grain size, Rockwell hardness, and tensile strength requirements are detailed.
SCOPE
1.1 This specification establishes requirements for round, hexagonal, octagonal, rectangular and square brass wire of UNS Alloy Nos. C21000, C22000, C22600, C23000, C23400, C24000, C26000, C27000, and C27400.
1.2 Units—The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound units are to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated in each system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other. Combining values from the two systems may result in non-conformance with the standard.
