Specification for mortar for masonry - Part 2: Masonry mortar

This part of EN 998 specifies requirements for masonry mortars (bedding, jointing and pointing) for use in masonry (e.g. facing and rendered masonry, loadbearing or non-loadbearing masonry structures, including internal linings and partitions, for building and civil engineering).
To support the aim of achieving a performance-related standard, as far as practicable, the Standard refers only to the properties of the product and not to its method of manufacture, except where this is unavoidable in the description of the characteristics of the product.
It defines for fresh mortars the performance related to workable life, chloride content, air content, correction time (for thin layer mortars) and density.For hardened mortars it defines the performance related to compressive strength, bond strength, durability and thermal properties and density.  All performances are measured according to the corresponding test methods contained in separate European Standards.
It provides for the evaluation of conformity of the product to this European Standard.
The marking requirement for products covered by this European Standard is included.
This standard covers masonry mortars defined in clause 3 with the exception of site made mortars. However, this standard or part of this standard may be used in conjunction with codes of applications and National specifications covering site made mortars.

Festlegungen für Mörtel im Mauerwerksbau - Teil 2: Mauermörtel

Dieser Teil von EN 998 legt die Anforderungen für Mauermörtel (Lager-, Stoß- und Längsfugen; Fugenglattstrich; nachträgliches Verfugen) zur Verwendung in Mauerwerkskonstruktionen (z. B. Verblendmauerwerk und verputztes Mauerwerk, tragende und nichttragende Mauerwerkskonstruktionen, einschließlich Innen-Ausmauerung und Trennwände, für Hoch- und Tiefbauten) fest.
Es war das Ziel, die Norm in Form von Leistungsanforderungen an die Produkte abzufassen. Deshalb bezieht sich diese Norm so weit wie möglich nur auf die Eigenschaften des Produktes und nicht auf sein Herstellungsverfahren, außer wenn dies bei der Beschreibung der Produkteigenschaften unumgänglich ist.
Sie beschreibt für Frischmörtel die Leistungsanforderungen in Bezug auf Verarbeitbarkeitszeit, Chloridgehalt, Luftgehalt, Korrigierbarkeitszeit (für Dünnbettmörtel) und Rohdichte und für Festmörtel die Leistungsanforderungen in Bezug auf Druckfestigkeit, Verbundfestigkeit, Dauerhaftigkeit , Wärmedämm-Eigenschaften und Rohdichte. Alle Eigenschaften werden nach den entsprechend festgelegten Prüfverfahren, die in gesonderten Europäischen Normen enthalten sind, ermittelt.
Sie stellt ein Verfahren zum Nachweis der Übereinstimmung der Produkte mit dieser Europäischen Norm zur Verfügung.
Anforderungen an die Kennzeichnung der von dieser Europäischen Norm betroffenen Produkte sind enthalten.
Diese Norm gilt für Mauermörtel nach Abschnitt 3 mit Ausnahme von Baustellenmörtel. Diese Norm oder Teile dieser Norm können jedoch in Zusammenhang mit Anwendungsvorschriften und nationalen Festlegungen auch für Baustellenmörtel angewendet werden.

Spécifications des mortiers pour maçonnerie - Partie 2: Mortiers de montage

La présente partie de l'EN 998 fournit les prescriptions applicables aux mortiers de montage (assemblage, jointoiement et rejointoiement) utilisés en maçonnerie (par exemple, maçonnerie apparente ou à enduire, structures de maçonnerie porteuse ou non, y compris les cloisons de doublage et de distribution, destinés au bâtiment et au génie civil).
En vue d'obtenir une norme performancielle, cette norme se réfère uniquement dans la mesure du possible aux propriétés du produit, et non à sa méthode de fabrication, sauf lorsque cela est inévitable lors de la description des caractéristiques du produit.
La présente norme définit, pour les mortiers frais, les performances relatives à la durée pratique d'utilisation, la teneur en chlorure, l'air occlus, le temps ouvert (pour les mortiers de joints minces) et la masse volumique et, pour les mortiers durcis, les performances liées à la résistance à la compression, l'adhérence, la durabilité et les propriétés thermiques et la masse volumique, toutes les performances étant mesurées selon les méthodes d'essai correspondantes définies dans des normes européennes distinctes.
Cette norme traite également de l'évaluation de la conformité des produits à cette présente norme ainsi que du marquage.
La présente norme s'applique aux mortiers de montage définis à l'article 3, à l'exception des mortiers préparés sur chantier. Toutefois, toute ou partie de cette norme peut être utilisée en association avec des codes de mise en ¿uvre et des spécifications nationales relatives aux mortiers préparés sur chantier.
