1 Scope
The present document specifies a RESTful protocol and data model fulfilling the requirements specified in the ETSI
GS NFV-IFA 050 [1] for the intent management service interface integrated with NFV-MANO framework. The present
document contains normative OpenAPI representations and, optionally, provisions or informative document
descriptions.

4 Overview of Intent Management
4.1 Introduction
ETSI GS NFV-IFA 050 [1] describes the use cases related to intent management, and specifies the requirements,
operations and information model of the intent management interface.
In the context of the present document, intent management is a simplified way (compared with traditional API calls) to
consume NFV-MANO services, by formulating only the requirements and constraints, and without specifying which
operations are necessary to actually fulfil the requirements and finally be executed by NFV-MANO.
The operations defined for the intent management interface (e.g. create intent object instance operation) are produced
by intent handler, and consumed by intent owner, to manage the NFV system through intents. The intent owner is the
role who formulates an intent object and intent handler is the role who process the intent object. And in principle, a
management entity (e.g. NFVO) could play as intent owner, intent handler, or both roles in different use cases.
In release 5, ETSI GS NFV-IFA 050 [1] only describes the use cases about intents used for managing network services.
And thus the intent owner is played by OSS/BSS, and the intent handler is played by Intent Management function,
which could be an independent management entity in NFV-MANO, or part of NFVO.
5 Definition for Intent Management Service Interface
5.1 Introduction
This clause defines the RESTful protocol for the intent management service interface, based on the information models
defined in ETSI GS NFV-IFA 050 [1].
The operations provided through the intent management service interface are:
• Create Intent Object Instance Operation.
• Update Intent Object Instance Operation.
• Delete Intent Object Instance Operation.
• Query Intent Object Instance Operation.
Subscribe Intent Object Instance Operation, Unsubscribe Intent Object Instance Operation, Negotiate Intent Object
Operation and Notify Intent Object Instance Operation as defined in ETSI GS NFV-IFA 050 [1] are not supported in the
current version of the present document.
5.2 API version
For the intent management service interface version as specified in the present document, the MAJOR version field
shall be 1, the MINOR version field shall be 0 and the PATCH version field shall be 0 (see claus
