Platform Documentation
Platform Documentation
Welcome to the iTeh Standards platform documentation. This is the hub — start here to find the practical guide for whatever you're trying to do.
The platform's pieces work well together but each is documented separately so you can read just the parts you need.
Buying standards
| Guide | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Purchasing Standards | Find a standard, add it to the cart, choose the right product type (PDF, printed, E-Library), tune quantities, watch volume discounts trigger, hand off to checkout. |
| Checkout | The checkout page itself: billing account, requisition / PO numbers, coupons, the three-layer discount stack, payment options (Stripe, PayPal, bank transfer), what arrives in the library after payment. |
Reading and using standards
| Guide | What it covers |
|---|---|
| E-Library | Per-document, time-limited reading at a fraction of the purchase price — with optional AI Chat that answers questions about the standard in seconds. |
| Subscriptions | Cost-effective ongoing access to entire body collections or specific ICS scopes — multi-seat for teams, monthly or annual, includes the Engineering Workplace. |
| Engineering Workplace | Mark up standards directly in the browser — highlight, draw, add notes, share annotations across your team. Available on Subscription documents. |
Working as a team
| Guide | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Organizations and Members | Set up a Business Account, invite teammates, manage members, the Admin vs User role model, and how shared library access works. |
Suggested reading paths
I'm new to the platform and want to read one specific standard. Start with Purchasing Standards → Checkout → E-Library.
My team needs ongoing access to a body's whole catalog. Start with Subscriptions → Organizations and Members → Engineering Workplace.
I'm setting up the platform for a new team. Start with Organizations and Members to create your Business Account and invite colleagues, then Subscriptions to plan ongoing access, then the relevant reader guide (E-Library or Engineering Workplace) so the team knows what they can do once they're inside a document.
I just want to ask the AI questions about a standard I already own. Open the standard in the catalog, pick Add to e-Library, tick Include AI Chat, and you're set — E-Library explains the workflow.
Keeping up to date
New features and platform changes are announced in the Announcements feed. Each announcement links back to the relevant feature documentation here, so the index stays the long-form reference and the announcements cover the news.
If something in the platform doesn't match what you read here, the documentation is wrong — please tell us via support so we can fix it.
