Ta dokument določa tehnične lastnosti in metode merjenja za radijske oddajnike in sprejemnike VHF na ladjah, ki uporabljajo frekvenčne pasove, dodeljene za pomorske mobilne storitve, in se uporabljajo na celinskih vodnih poteh, kot določajo regionalni sporazumi ali pristojni upravni organi.
Ta dokument se uporablja za oddajnike in sprejemnike VHF, opremljene s 50-ohmsko zunanjo antensko vtičnico ali priključkom za uporabo na ladjah na celinskih vodnih poteh, ki delujejo v pasovih med 156 MHz in 174 MHz, dodeljenih za pomorske mobilne storitve v skladu s Pravilnikom o radiokomunikacijah Mednarodne telekomunikacijske zveze [1], dodatek 18.
Za države, v katerih je obvezna uporaba avtomatskega sistema za identifikacijo radijskih oddajnikov (ATIS), se uporabljajo tudi zahteve v dodatku B.
Ta dokument zajema bistvene zahteve člena 3.2 in člena 3.3(g) direktive 2014/53/EU [i.3] pod pogoji iz točke A.2.
