IEC 61300-3-4:2023 is available as IEC 61300-3-4:2023 RLV which contains the International Standard and its Redline version, showing all changes of the technical content compared to the previous edition.
IEC 61300-3-4: 2022 describes the various methods available to measure the attenuation of optical components. It is not, however, applicable to random mate attenuation measurements as described in IEC 61300-3-34 and IEC 61300-3-45 nor for attenuation measurements of dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) devices as described in IEC 61300-3-29. This fourth edition cancels and replaces the third edition published in 2012. This edition constitutes a technical revision. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition:
a) addition of Clause 3 containing terms, definitions and abbreviated terms;
b) addition of a new LSPM measurement method, insertion method (D);
c) addition of Annex A describing attenuation measurement of multicore fibre;
d) changed reference test method to insertion C and alternative test method to substitution or insertion D for power meter and type 4 DUT.

IEC TR 62627-01:2023 is available as IEC TR 62627-01:2023 RLV which contains the International Standard and its Redline version, showing all changes of the technical content compared to the previous edition.IEC TR 62627-01:2023 which is a Technical Report, details cleaning methods for fibre optic connectors. It includes typical cleaning tools and machines, and cleaning procedures. Other cleaning methods exist. The impact of contamination and the reasons for connector visual inspection and cleaning are described in Annex B. This document does not address the visual inspection procedures, which are covered in IEC 61300-3-35. Optical fibre patch cords are handled by the operators and maintenance staff of optical network systems. This document is useful as a guideline to prepare instruction manuals for those involved in optical system maintenance and operation. This document covers fibre optic connector plugs, optical adaptors, optical receptacles (excluding optical transceivers) and dust caps. Guidelines for fibre optic connector end-face cleaning methods for receptacle style optical transceivers are covered in IEC TR 62572-4. This third edition cancels and replaces the second edition published in 2016. This edition constitutes a technical revision. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition:
- addition of cleaning tools for adhesive pad type and adhesive pen type in terms and definitions (Clause 3), in information (7.5 and 7.6), in fibre optic connectors and their applicable cleaning tools (Table 1 and Clause 8) and procedures (9.5, 9.6 and 9.7);
- addition of classification of cleaning tools and machines (Figure 1).

IEC 61300-2-1:2023 is available as IEC 61300-2-1:2023 RLV which contains the International Standard and its Redline version, showing all changes of the technical content compared to the previous edition.IEC 61300-2-1:2023 evaluates the effects of vibration on fibre optic devices at the predominant frequency ranges and magnitudes that are encountered during field service on attenuation. NOTE Most vibrations encountered in service are not of a simple harmonic nature. However, it has been shown that tests based on vibrations of this type are satisfactory to simulating actual service. This fourth edition cancels and replaces the third edition published in 2009. This edition constitutes a technical revision. This edition includes the following significant technical change with respect to the previous edition: harmonizing with the test conditions in IEC 61753-1:2018 and revising severities.

IEC 61300-2-18:2023 is available as IEC 61300-2-18:2023 RLV which contains the International Standard and its Redline version, showing all changes of the technical content compared to the previous edition.IEC 61300-2-18:2023 details a procedure to determine the suitability of a fibre optic interconnecting device, passive component, splices or closure to withstand the environmental condition of extended high temperature that occur during operation, storage and/or transport. The test is intended to indicate the performance of such devices when exposed to heat of constant temperature over a given period. In general terms, this test provides a high temperature to induce potential failures due to softening and expansions. This procedure does not assess the ability of a device to operate during temperature variations; in this case, IEC 61300-2-22 is used. This third edition cancels and replaces the second edition published in 2005. This edition constitutes a technical revision. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition:
- terms and definitions updated according to IEC 61753-1:2018;
- test severities updated according to IEC 61753-1:2018;
- simplification of the combination of temperature and exposure time.
