ISO 7010:2011 prescribes safety signs for the purposes of accident prevention, fire protection, health hazard information and emergency evacuation. Foreword
ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies
(ISO member bodies). The work of preparing International Standards is normally carried out through ISO
technical committees. Each member body interested in a subject for which a technical committee has been
established has the right to be represented on that committee. International organizations, governmental and
non-governmental, in liaison with ISO, also take part in the work. ISO collaborates closely with the
International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) on all matters of electrotechnical standardization.

Introduction
There is a need to standardize a system of giving safety information that relies as little as possible on the use
of words to achieve understanding.
Continued growth in international trade, travel and mobility of labour requires a common method of
communicating safety information.
Lack of standardization may lead to confusion and the risk of accidents.
The use of standardized safety signs does not replace proper work methods, instructions and accident
prevention training or measures. Education is an essential part of any system that provides safety information.
The safety signs are intended for use only where there is a risk to people. They may appear in safety signage
in workplaces and public areas, safety manuals and notices, product labelling and escape and evacuation
plans, as appropriate.
This International Standard is intended to be used by all Technical Committees within ISO charged with
developing specific safety signing for their industry, to ensure that there is only one safety sign for each safety
meaning. It is also intended that this International Standard be revised regularly to include safety signs as they
are standardized by ISO, and which conform to the design principles given in ISO 3864.
The safety signs in this International Standard have been validated by ISO/TC 145/SC 2 according to
procedures of standardization current at the time of publication.

IMPORTANT — The colours represented in the electronic file of this International Standard can be
neither viewed on screen nor printed as true representations. Although the copies of this International
Standard printed by ISO have been produced to correspond (with an acceptable tolerance as judged
by the naked eye) to the requirements of ISO 3864-4, it is not intended that these printed copies be
used for colour matching. Instead consult ISO 3864-4 which provides colorimetric and photometric
properties together with, as a guideline, references from colour order systems.

4.3 Categorization of safety signs
Safety signs are categorized according to their function as follows:
E is the category for signs indicating an evacuation route, the location of safety equipment or a safety
facility, or a safety action (safe condition signs);
F is the category for fire equipment signs;
M is the category for mandatory action signs;
P is the category for prohibition signs;
W is the category for warning signs.
Table 2 summarizes the registered safety signs in terms of safety sign category in accordance with
ISO 3864-1.
5 Registered safety signs
Tables 3 to 7 give safety sign originals in a uniform 70 mm size with corner marks to enable accurate
enlargement and reduction scaling. The sign illustrations are shown without borders in order to allow for
consistent reproduction scaling, though a border can be useful to achieve a luminance contrast between the
safety sign and its background when mounted or displayed. The safety signs should be reproduced exactly as
shown in Tables 3 to 7. However some degree of graphical modification is permitted when cultural differences
or special application formats need to be considered, provided the original meaning is retained and
comprehension of the safety sign is maintained. Consistent reproduction and use of these safety signs will
lead to a progressively improved degree of comprehension at the international level.
In cases where the orientation of the graphical symbol is not essential to the meaning of the safety sign, the
graphical symbol may be reproduced in a mirrored form. For prohibition signs, it is essential that the
prohibition bar does not obscure significant details of the graphical symbol.
NOTE The graphical symbol is the complete image containing all the graphical symbol elements as shown in the
registered safety sign.
Where a registered safety sign is not available to indicate a particular desired meaning, the meaning shall be
obtained either by developing a new safety sign following the design principles of ISO 3864-1 and ISO 3864-3
or by using the appropriate general sign (ISO 7010-M001, -P001, -W001), together with supplementary safety
information.

L'ISO (Organisation internationale de normalisation) est une fédération mondiale d'organismes nationaux de
normalisation (comités membres de l'ISO). L'élaboration des Normes internationales est en général confiée
aux comités techniques de l'ISO. Chaque comité membre intéressé par une étude a le droit de faire partie du

Introduction
Il apparaît nécessaire de normaliser un système pour la transmission d'informations en matière de sécurité
dont la compréhension se base aussi peu que possible sur l'utilisation de mots.
Le développement constant des échanges et des voyages internationaux, ainsi que la mobilité des travailleurs
exige l'instauration d'une méthode commune de communication des informations relatives à la sécurité.
Le manque de normalisation peut entraîner des confusions et même des accidents.
L'utilisation de signaux de sécurité normalisés ne dispense en aucun cas d'adopter des méthodes de travail et
des consignes adéquates, et de prendre des mesures ou de suivre des stages de prévention contre les
accidents. La formation est un aspect essentiel de tout système d'information en matière de sécurité.
Les signaux de sécurité sont destinés à être utilisés uniquement lorsqu'il existe un risque pour des individus.
Ils peuvent apparaître dans la signalisation de sécurité sur les lieux de travail et dans les lieux publics, dans
des manuels et des notices de sécurité, sur l'étiquetage de produits ainsi que sur des plans d'évacuation, le
cas échéant.
La présente Norme internationale est destinée à être utilisée, au sein de l'ISO, par tous les comités
techniques chargés d'élaborer une signalisation de sécurité spécifique à leur secteur d'activité, de façon à
s'assurer qu'il n'existe qu'un seul signal de sécurité pour chaque message de sécurité. Il est également prévu
que la présente Norme internationale soit régulièrement révisée afin d'inclure les signaux de sécurité tels que
normalisés par l'ISO, et qui sont conformes aux principes de conception énoncés dans l'ISO 3864.

1 Domaine d'application
La présente Norme internationale prescrit les signaux de sécurité à utiliser dans le cadre de la prévention des
accidents, de la lutte contre l'incendie, de l'information sur les risques d'atteinte à la santé et de l'évacuation
d'urgence.
La forme et la couleur de chaque signal de sécurité sont conformes à l'ISO 3864-1 et la conception des
symboles graphiques est conforme à l'ISO 3864-3.
La présente Norme internationale s'applique dans tous les lieux et secteurs où des questions relatives à la
sécurité des personnes sont susceptibles de se poser. Elle n'est toutefois pas applicable à la signalisation
utilisée dans le trafic ferroviaire, routier, fluvial, maritime et aérien, ni d'une manière générale, aux secteurs
qui sont soumis à une réglementation pouvant différer en certains points de la présente Norme internationale
et de l'ISO 3864.
La présente Norme internationale spécifie des originaux de signaux de sécurité qui peuvent être réduits ou

4 Référents et classification des signaux de sécurité
4.1 Généralités
Les résumés des paragraphes 4.2 et 4.3 sont destinés à faciliter la recherche des signaux de sécurité
enregistrés.
La maintenance de la présente Norme internationale sera réalisée sous forme électronique par le biais d'une
base de données. Les index de cette base de données seront utilisés dans ces résumés comme moteurs de

4.3 Classification des signaux de sécurité
Les signaux de sécurité sont classifiés comme suit selon leur fonction:
E est la catégorie des signaux indiquant une issue de secours, l'emplacement des équipements de
sécurité ou d'un local de sécurité, ou une action de sécurité (signaux de condition de sécurité);
F est la catégorie des signaux d'équipements de lutte contre l'incendie;
M est la catégorie des signaux d'obligation;
P est la catégorie des signaux d'interdiction;
W est la catégorie des signaux d'avertissement.
Le Tableau 2 résume les signaux de sécurité enregistrés en termes de catégorie de signal de sécurité
conformément à l'ISO 3864-1.
5 Signaux de sécurité enregistrés
Les Tableaux 3 à 7 fournissent des originaux de signaux de sécurité d'une taille uniforme de 70 mm avec des
repères d'angle destinés à permettre une réduction ou un agrandissement précis. Les illustrations des
signaux sont présentées sans bordure afin d'assurer une mise à l'échelle de reproduction cohérente, même si
une bordure peut être utile pour obtenir un contraste de luminance entre le signal de sécurité et son fond
lorsqu'il est monté ou affiché. Il convient de reproduire les signaux de sécurité exactement comme présentés
dans les Tableaux 3 à 7. Cependant, des modifications graphiques sont autorisées jusqu'à un certain degré
lorsque des différences culturelles ou des formats d'application spéciaux doivent être considérés, à condition
de conserver la signification d'origine et de préserver la compréhension du signal de sécurité. La reproduction
cohérente et l'utilisation de ces signaux de sécurité contribuera progressivement à améliorer le degré de
compréhension à l'échelle internationale.
Dans des cas où l'orientation du symbole graphique n'est pas essentielle à la signification du signal de
sécurité, le symbole graphique peut être reproduit en mode miroir. Pour les signaux d'interdiction, il est
indispensable que la barre d'interdiction ne masque pas les détails significatifs du symbole graphique.
NOTE Le symbole graphique est l'ensemble de l'image contenant tous les éléments du symbole graphique comme
présentés dans le signal de sécurité enregistré.
Si un signal de sécurité enregistré n'est pas disponible pour indiquer un message particulier souhaité, ce
message doit être obtenu en élaborant un nouveau signal de sécurité selon les principes de conception de
l'ISO 3864-1 et de l'ISO 3864-3 ou en utilisant le signal général qui convient (ISO 7010-M001, ISO 7010-P001,
ISO 7010-W001) accompagné d'informations de sécurité supplémentaires.

Предисловие
Международная организация по стандартизации (ISO) является всемирной федерацией национальных
организаций по стандартизации (комитетов-членов ISO). Разработка международных стандартов
обычно осуществляется техническими комитетами ISO. Каждый комитет-член, заинтересованный в
деятельности, для которой был создан технический комитет, имеет право быть представленным в этом
комитете. Международные правительственные и неправительственные организации, имеющие связи с
ISO, также принимают участие в работах. Что касается стандартизации в области электротехники, то
ISO работает в тесном сотрудничестве с Международной электротехнической комиссией (IEC).
Проекты международных стандартов разрабатываются в соответствии с правилами Директив ISO/IEC,
Часть 2.
Основной задачей технических комитетов является подготовка международных стандартов. Проекты
международных стандартов, принятые техническими комитетами, рассылаются комитетам-членам на

Введение
Имеется необходимость стандартизовать систему выдачи информации о безопасности, которая
полагается, насколько это возможно, на использование слов для достижения понимания.
Непрерывный рост в международной торговле, туризме и мобильности рабочей силы требуют общего
метода сообщения информации об обеспечении безопасности.
Недостаток стандартизации может привести к путанице и риску несчастных случаев.
Использование стандартизованных знаков безопасности не заменяет свойственные рабочие методы,
инструкции и обучение или меры для предотвращения несчастных случаев. Образование является
существенной частью любой системы, которая предоставляет информацию по обеспечению
безопасности.
Знаки безопасности предполагается использовать только в случаях, когда существует риск людям.
Они могут появиться в надписях по технике безопасности в рабочих и общественных местах,
наставлениях и сообщениях по безопасности, на этикетках изделий, планах и маршрутах эвакуации в
зависимости от ситуации.
Предполагается, что настоящий международный стандарт надо использовать техническим комитетам
в рамках ISO, которые отвечают за разработку специфических знаков безопасности для своих
отраслей промышленности с гарантией, что имеется только один знак для каждого обозначения
безопасности. Предполагается также, что настоящий международный стандарт будет регулярно
пересматриваться, чтобы включать знаки безопасности по мере того, как они стандартизуются в ISO
и согласуются с принципами разработки, которые указаны в ISO 3864.
Знаки безопасности в настоящем международном стандарте утверждены в ISO/TC 145/SC 2 согласно

1 Область применения
Настоящий международный стандарт предписывает знаки безопасности для предотвращения
несчастных случаев, противопожарной защиты, информации о возможности нанесения вреда
здоровью и эвакуации в аварийной ситуации.
Форма и цвет каждого знака безопасности соответствуют требованиям ISO 3864-1, а дизайн
графических символов – ISO 3864-3.
Настоящий международный стандарт применяется ко всем местоположениям, где необходимо
обращаться к вопросам обеспечения безопасности людей. Однако он не применяется к сигнализации,
используемой для указания направляющего рельса, дорожного, речного, морского или воздушного
движения и, как правило, к тем секторам, подлежащим регулированию, которые могут отличаться в
том, что касается определенных пунктов этого международного стандарта и ряда стандартов ISO 3864.
Настоящий международный стандарт задает оригиналы знаков безопасности, которые могут быть
сведены к определенному масштабу для воспроизведения и применения.

4 Объекты ссылок и распределение по категориям знаков безопасности
4.1 Общие положения
Сводки в 4.2 и 4.3 предоставляются для облегчения поиска зарегистрированных знаков безопасности.
Настоящий международный стандарт будет иметь электронную поддержку через использование базы
данных. Индексы этой базы данных используются в упомянутых выше сводках в качестве
механизмов поиска каждого зарегистрированного знака безопасности, имеющего единственный в

своем роде номер ссылки .

4.3 Распределение по категориям знаков безопасности
Знаки безопасности распределяются по категориям согласно их функции следующим образом:
― E категория для знаков, указывающих маршрут эвакуации, местоположение оборудования
безопасности или безопасного помещения, или действие по обеспечению безопасности (знаки
безопасного состояния);
― F категория для знаков противопожарного оборудования;
― M категория для знаков обязательного действия;
― P категория для запрещающих знаков;
― W категория для предупреждающих знаков.
Таблица 2 дает сводку зарегистрированных знаков безопасности на основе категории знака
безопасности в соответствии с ISO 3864-1.
5 Зарегистрированные знаки безопасности
Таблицы 3−7 дают оригиналы знаков безопасности в одинаковом размере 70 мм с угловыми метками для
обеспечения выбора масштаба точного увеличения или уменьшения. Иллюстрации знаков показаны без
границ, чтобы учесть выбор масштаба непротиворечивого представления, хотя граница может быть
полезной для достижения яркостного контраста между знаком безопасности и его фоном при монтаже или
отображении. Знаки безопасности следует воспроизводить точно так, как показано в Таблицах 3−7. Однако
допускается некоторая степень графического видоизменения, когда культурные различия или специальные
форматы применения надо принимать во внимание при условии, что исходный смысл сохраняется, а
понимание знака безопасности поддерживается. Непротиворечивое воспроизведение и использование этих
знаков безопасности ведет к непрерывному улучшению понимания на международном уровне.
В случаях, когда ориентация графического символа не является существенной для значения знака
безопасности, то графический символ может быть воспроизведен в форме зеркального отображения.
Для знаков запрещения весьма важно, чтобы запретительные полосы не загораживали значимые
детали графического символа.
ПРИМЕЧАНИЕ Графический символ является полным изображением, которое содержит все элементы
графического символа, как показано в зарегистрированном знаке безопасности.
В случае отсутствия зарегистрированного знака безопасности, чтобы указывать конкретный желаемый смысл, то
этот смысл должен быть получен либо за счет разработки нового знака безопасности, следуя принципам
проектирования в ISO 3864-1 и ISO 3864-3, либо путем использования подходящего общего знака (ISO 7010-
M001, -P001, -W001) вместе с дополнительной информацией обеспечения безопасности.
