BRIEF HISTORY
Envelope dimensions for ground air-conditioning connections to facilitate
aircraft servicing internationally were considered by the International Organ-
ization for Standardization through its Technical Committee IS0 /TC 20 -
Aircraft, the Secretariat of which is held by the British Standards Institution.

During its first meeting, held in London on 19
United Kingdom proposals for a connection were adopted.
The following Member Bodies took part in this meeting:
France, Italy, Netherlands, Switzerland, United Kingdom.
Observers attended from : United States, Yugoslavia, International Air
Transport Association (IATA) and International Civil Aviation Organization
(ICAO).
On 17 June, 1953, the Draft IS0 Recommendation proposed by the Tech-
nical Committee IS0 /TC 20 was submitted to all Member Bodies of ISO.
The Draft was subjected to only minor changes in the detail and manner
of presentation as a result of comments received and it was distributed to
the Member Bodies on 2 November, 1954, together with the final report of
the Secretariat.

HISTORIQUE
Dans le but de faciliter le service des avions sur le plan international,
la question des dimensions d’encombrement des raccords pour air conditionné
au sol a été examinée par l’organisation Internationale de Normalisation, au
sein de son Comité Technique ISO/TC 20 - Aéronautique, dont le Secrétariat
est assumé par la British Standards Institution.
Au cours de sa première réunion, tenue à Londres du 19 au 21 novembre
1951, le Comité Technique adopta les propositions que le Royaume-Uni avait
présentées pour un tel raccord. A cette réunion participaient les Comités Membres
suivants :
France, Italie, Pays-Bas, Royaume-Uni, Suisse.
Les Comités Membres des Etats-Unis et de la Yougoslavie, ainsi que
l’Association du Transport Aérien International (IATA) et l’Organisation de
l’Aviation Civile Internationale (OACJ), étaient représentés à cette réunion
par des observateurs.
Le Projet de Recommandation IS0 proposé par le Comité Technique
ISO/TC 20 fut soumis le 17 juin 1953 à tous les Comités Membres de 1’ISO.
Tenant compte des observations reçues, ce Projet subit quelques amende-
ments de détail et de présentation et un texte revisé fut distribué à tous les
Comités Membres le 2 novembre 1954, avec le rapport final du Secrétariat.
