Foreword
ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies (ISO
member bodies). The work of preparing International Standards is normally carried out through ISO technical
committees. Each member body interested in a subject for which a technical committee has been established has
the right to be represented on that committee. International organizations, governmental and non-governmental, in
liaison with ISO, also take part in the work. ISO collaborates closely with the International Electrotechnical
Commission (IEC) on all matters of electrotechnical standardization.
International Standards are drafted in accordance with the rules given in the ISO/IEC Directives, Part 3.
Draft International Standards adopted by the technical committees are circulated to the member bodies for voting.
Publication as an International Standard requires approval by at least 75 % of the member bodies casting a vote.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this part of ISO 8782 may be the subject of patent
rights. ISO shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
International Standard ISO 8782-7 was prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 94, Personal safety — Protective
clothing and equipment, Subcommittee SC 3, Foot protection.

Introduction
This part of ISO 8782 extends the scope of ISO 8782-3 by specifying further properties which may be needed in
safety footwear for professional use. It refers to ISO 8782-3 for the basic requirements which are mandatory for all
items of safety footwear and, if desired, allows other combinations of properties to be specified by the selection of
appropriate optional requirements from Table 3 of ISO 8782-3:1998.

L'ISO (Organisation internationale de normalisation) est une fédération mondiale d'organismes nationaux de
normalisation (comités membres de l'ISO). L'élaboration des Normes internationales est en général confiée aux
comités techniques de l'ISO. Chaque comité membre intéressé par une étude a le droit de faire partie du comité
technique créé à cet effet. Les organisations internationales, gouvernementales et non gouvernementales, en
liaison avec l'ISO participent également aux travaux. L'ISO collabore étroitement avec la Commission
électrotechnique internationale (CEI) en ce qui concerne la normalisation électrotechnique.

Introduction
La présente partie de l’ISO 8782 prolonge le domaine d'application de l’ISO 8782-3 par la spécification de critères
additionnels qui pourraient être nécessaires pour les chaussures de protection à usage professionnel. Elle fait
référence à l’ISO 8782-3 pour les exigences fondamentales, qui sont obligatoires pour toute chaussure de
protection et, le cas échéant, permet la spécification d'autres combinaisons de propriétés par la sélection des
exigences facultatives appropriées présentées au Tableau 3 de l’ISO 8782-3:1998.
