1.2 Die Arten von Ethylen-Vinylalkohol (EVOH)-Copolymer-Kunststoffen werden mit Hilfe eines Einteilungs-system
voneinander unterschieden, das auf geeigneten Wertebereichen der folgenden kennzeichnenden
Eigenschaft
Schmelze-Massefließrate
und Informationen über grundlegende Polymerparameter, vorgesehene(s) Anwendung und/oder, Verarbei-tungsverfahren,
wichtige Eigenschaften, Additive, Farbstoffe, Füll- und Verstärkungsstoffe beruht.
1.3 Dieser Teil von ISO 14663 gilt für Copolymere von Ethylen und Vinylalkohol, die von 15 % (Massen-anteil)
bis 60 % (Massenanteil) Ethylen enthalten. Er gilt für gebrauchsfertige Formmassen in Form von Pulver,
Granulat oder Pellets und für mit Farbstoffen, Additiven, Füllstoffen usw. modifizierte sowie für nicht
modifizierte Materialien.
1.4 Es darf nicht unterstellt werden, dass Formmassen mit der gleichen Bezeichnung notwendigerweise ein
gleiches Leistungsverhalten zeigen. Dieser Teil von ISO 14663 enthält keine technischen Daten, Leistungs-angaben
oder Verarbeitungsbedingungen, die möglicherweise erforderlich sind, um Formmassen für eine
spezielle Anwendung und/oder ein bestimmtes Verarbeitungsverfahren festzulegen.
Falls derartige zusätzliche Eigenschaften verlangt sind, müssen sie, soweit möglich, nach den in Teil 2 dieser
Internationalen Norm festgelegten Prüfverfahren bestimmt werden.
1.5 Um eine thermoplastische Formmasse für eine bestimmte Anwendung festzulegen oder eine repro-duzierbare
Verarbeitung sicherzustellen, dürfen im Daten-Block 5 (siehe Abschnitt 3, einleitender Absatz)
zusätzliche Anforderungen angegeben werden.

The text of ISO 14663-1:1999 has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 61 "Plastics”
of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and has been taken over as EN ISO
14663-1:2006 by Technical Committee CEN/TC 249 "Plastics", the secretariat of which is held
by IBN.

This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of
an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by October 2006, and conflicting national
standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by October 2006.

According to the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations, the national standards organizations of
the following countries are bound to implement this European Standard: Austria, Belgium,
Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary,

1 Scope
1.1  This part of ISO 14663 establishes a system of designation for ethylene/vinyl alcohol (EVOH) copolymer
thermoplastic materials, which may be used as the basis for specifications.
1.2  The types of ethylene/vinyl alcohol (EVOH) copolymer plastic are differentiated from each other by a
classification system based on appropriate levels of the designatory property:
melt mass-flow rate
and on information about basic polymer parameters, intended application and/or method of processing, important
properties, additives, colorants, fillers and reinforcing materials.
1.3  This part of ISO 14663 is applicable to copolymers of ethylene and vinyl alcohol containing from 15 % (m/m) to
60 % ( / ) of ethylene. It applies to materials ready for normal use in the form of powder, granules or pellets,

unmodified or modified by colorants, additives, fillers, etc.
1.4  It is not intended to imply that materials having the same designation give necessarily the same performance.
This part of ISO 14663 does not provide engineering data, performance data or data on processing conditions
which may be required to specify a material for a particular application and/or method of processing.
If such additional properties are required, they shall be determined in accordance with the test methods described in
part 2 of this International Standard, if suitable.
1.5  In order to specify a thermoplastic material for a particular application or to ensure reproducible processing,
additional requirements may be given in data block 5 (see clause 3, introductory paragraph).
