Liquid metal, unalloyed and alloyed ingots
Standardisation of the rules of writing the designation of aluminium and aluminium alloys. Composition iof liquid metal, alloyed and unalloyed ingots, master alloys.
General Information
This European Standard defines the requirements for grades of alloyed aluminium ingots intended for remelting. It specifies the classifications and designations applicable to these grades, the conditions in which they are produced, their properties and the marks by which they are identified.

This part of prEN 132/14 specifies a code of designation applicable to unalloyedaluminium, aluminium alloys and master alloys as specified in the relevant European Standards. It is a descriptive code based primarily on chemical symbols. It applies to ingots for remelting and to castings. An alternative numerical system is specified in EN 1780-1. Writing rules for chemical composition are described in EN 1780-3.

This part of prEN 1780 specifies the writing rules for chemical composition of unalloyed aluminium, aluminium alloys and master alloys. It applies to ingotsfor remelting and to castings. The five-figure numerical and the chemical symbolbased designation systems of materials are specified in prEN 1780-1 and prEN 1780-2, respectively.

This part of EN 132/14 describes a five-figure numerical designation system of unalloyed aluminium, aluminium alloys and master alloys. It applies to ingots for remelting and to castings and applies to both CEN and AECMA alloys. An alternative chemical symbol based designation system is described in EN 1780-2. Writing rules for chemical composition are described in EN 1780-3.
