Scope of work - Standardization of: - Terminology related to renewable energy systems used on roofs - Evaluation methods for renewable energy systems used on roofs (eg. determination of wind and snow loading) - Development of a CEN Technical Report specifying requirements for renewable energy systems and for roofs onto which renewable energy systems have been fastened. - Reporting to the involved CEN/TCs on progress, in particular to CEN/TC128, including proposals to expand the working group's activities The working group shall not - Develop product specifications for - the renewable energy systems or their components - discontinuously laid roof covering products with integrated RES - Standardize installation requirements

General Information
This Technical Report provides guidance on the principles and requirements of structural design for the safety and serviceability of the structural connection between solar energy panels (thermal or photovoltaic) that are mounted on flat or pitched roofs.
This Technical Report does not include requirements for:
- weather tightness of the roof, solar panels and connections;
- electrical, thermal or mechanical characteristics of the solar panels;
- precautions against fire of the installation.
