ISO/TC 61/SC 11/WG 11 - Wood-plastic composites

This document defines the test methods for fundamental physical properties and durability required for wood-plastic recycled composites (hereinafter called WPRC) stipulated in ISO 20819-1.

This document specifies the types and proportions of raw materials to be used for wood-plastic recycled composites (hereafter referred to as WPRC). It also specifies the health and safety requirements for WPRC and the methods to test these properties. This document is applicable to WPRC which are primarily used as building materials.

ISO 19821:2017 specifies the procedures to establish a span rating for natural fibre-reinforced plastic composite (NFC) deck boards and deck boards used as stair treads, provided that the stair treads are produced from the same materials and processing techniques as the deck boards. This document covers test methods of performance, acceptance criteria and determination of span rating. It is intended to establish the basis for code recognition of deck boards used in exterior applications where combustible construction is allowed.

ISO 16616:2015 provides test methods of natural fibre-reinforced composite (NFC) deck boards used in exterior applications. This International Standard will cover the preparation of specimen, test equipments, procedures of measurements and evaluation methods.

It also specifies the health and safety requirements for WPRC and the methods to test these properties. ISO 20819:2018 is applicable to WPRC which are primarily used as building materials.
