This document specifies the required characteristics, tests and tooling applicable to male electrical contacts 004, type A, crimp, class T, used in elements of connection according to EN 3155 002.
It is used together with EN 3155 001.
The associated female contacts are specified in EN 3155 005.
The contacts specified by this document are applicable for connector classes specified in EN 2997 series.
This document specifies two contact types (M and H) depending on connector class.

After enquiries and votes carried out in accordance with the rules of this Association, this document has
received the approval of the National Associations and the Official Services of the member countries of
ASD-STAN, prior to its presentation to CEN.
This document is currently submitted to the CEN Enquiry.
This document will supersede EN 3155-004:2019.
This document includes the following significant technical changes with respect to EN 3155-004:2019:
— normative references updated;
— scope: extension of compatible connector classes in EN 2997 series;
— specification of contact types F and V in different clauses of the document;
— Figure 3 test sample configuration updated.

1 Scope
This document specifies the required characteristics, tests and tooling applicable to male electrical
contacts 004, type A, crimp, class T, used in elements of connection according to EN 3155-002.
It is used together with EN 3155-001.
The associated female contacts are specified in EN 3155-005.
The contacts specified by this document are applicable for connector classes specified in EN 2997 series.
This document specifies two contact types (M and H) depending on connector class.

4 Required characteristics
4.1 Specific characteristics
Type A contacts are for general application and class T corresponds to an operating temperature range
from −65 °C to 260 °C.
4.2 Dimensions and mass
Dimensions and mass shall be according to Figure 1 and Figure 2 and Table 1.
Dimensions and tolerances are given in millimetres and apply after surface treatment.

4.4 Material, surface treatment
— Body material: copper alloy.
— Surface treatment: gold on appropriate undercoat in copper alloy. Thickness of protection not
specified. Selective protection acceptable. (According to Figure 1).
4.5 Permissible cables
Permissible cables shall be according to Table 4.
