ISO 13789:2007 specifies a method and provides conventions for the calculation of the steady-state transmission and ventilation heat transfer coefficients of whole buildings and parts of buildings. It is applicable both to heat loss (internal temperature higher than external temperature) and to heat gain (internal temperature lower than external temperature). For the purpose of ISO 13789:2007, the heated or cooled space is assumed to be at uniform temperature.

Diese Internationale Norm legt ein Verfahren zur Berechnung des stationären spezifischen Transmis¬sions und des stationären spezifischen Lüftungswärmedurchgangskoeffizienten von vollständigen Gebäuden und Gebäude¬teilen fest und liefert die entsprechenden Vereinbarungen. Sie ist sowohl auf den Wärmeverlust (Innen¬temperatur höher als Außentemperatur) als auch auf den Wärmegewinn (Innentemperatur geringer als Außentemperatur) anwendbar. Für die Anwendung dieser Internationalen Norm wird für den beheizten oder gekühlten Raum eine einheitliche Temperatur angenommen.
Anhang A legt ein stationäres Verfahren zur Berechnung der Temperatur in unbeheizten Räumen, die an beheizte Räume angrenzen fest.

L'ISO 13789:2007 établit une méthode et des conventions pour le calcul des coefficients de transfert thermique par transmission et par renouvellement d'air, en régime stationnaire, pour des bâtiments complets ou des parties de bâtiments. Elle s'applique aux déperditions thermiques (température intérieure supérieure à la température extérieure) comme aux gains thermiques (température intérieure inférieure à la température extérieure). Pour les besoins de la présente Norme internationale, la température de l'espace chauffé ou refroidi est supposée uniforme.

This document (EN ISO 13789:2007) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 163 "Thermal
performance and energy use in the built environment" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 89
"Thermal performance of buildings and building components", the secretariat of which is held by SIS.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical
text or by endorsement, at the latest by June 2008, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at
the latest by June 2008.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent
rights. CEN [and/or CENELEC] shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
This document supersedes EN ISO 13789:1999.
