ISO 787-7:2009 specifies a general method of test for determining the residue on sieve from a sample of pigment or extender dispersed in water.

Dieser Teil von ISO 787 legt ein allgemeines Prüfverfahren zur Bestimmung des Siebrückstandes einer in Wasser aufgeschlämmten Pigment- oder Füllstoffprobe fest.
ISO 787-18, General methods of test for pigments and extenders — Part 18: Determination of residue on sieve — Mechanical flushing procedure, legt ein allgemeines Prüfverfahren zur Bestimmung des Sieb-rückstandes einer Pigment- oder Füllstoffprobe nach einem mechanischen Spülverfahren fest.
Bei den meisten Pigmenten und Füllstoffen führen ISO 787-7 und ISO 787-18 gewöhnlich zu unter¬schied-lichen Ergebnissen. Es ist deshalb wichtig, dass zu einer Anforderung angegeben wird, welches Verfahren anzuwenden ist, und im Prüfbericht, welches Verfahren angewendet wurde.
ANMERKUNG Die in den verschiedenen Teilen von ISO 787 angegebenen allgemeinen Verfahren sind im Allgemeinen auf jedes Pigment oder jeden Füllstoff anwendbar. In die Internationale Norm mit den Anforderungen für das jeweilige Pigment oder den jeweiligen Füllstoff braucht deshalb nur ein Querverweis auf den entsprechenden Teil von ISO 787 aufgenommen zu werden, mit einem Hinweis auf jede Abweichung, die im Hinblick auf die speziellen Eigenschaften des Produktes erforderlich ist. Nur wenn die allgemeinen Verfahren für ein bestimmtes Produkt nicht anwendbar sind, ist ein anderes Verfahren zur Bestimmung des Siebrückstandes festzulegen.

The work of preparing International Standards is normally carried out through ISO technical committees. Each member body interested in a subject for which a technical committee has been established has the right to be represented on that committee. International organizations, governmental and non-governmental, in liaison with ISO, also take part in the work. ISO collaborates closely with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) on all matters of electrotechnical standardization. International Standards are drafted in accordance with the rules given in the ISO/IEC Directives, Part 2. The main task of technical committees is to prepare International Standards. Draft International Standards adopted by the technical committees are circulated to the member bodies for voting. Publication as an International Standard requires approval by at least 75 % of the member bodies casting a vote. ISO 787-7 was prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 35, Paints and varnishes, Subcommittee SC 2, Pigments and extenders. This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition (ISO 787-7:1981), which has been technically revised. The main technical changes are: a) the apparatus clause has been amended; b) a number of modifications have been made to the determination.
