Child care articles - Carry cots and stands - Safety requirements and test methods

This European Standard specifies safety requirements and test methods for products which are intended for the purpose of carrying a child in a lying position by means of handle(s) and for stands which may be used in conjunction with these products.
These products are intended for a child who cannot sit unaided, roll over or push up on its hands and knees. Hereafter, in this European Standard these articles are called "carry cots" and include all types of carry cots with rigid or soft sides as well as moses baskets and any similar articles. Any other functions of the product shall comply with relevant European standards.
The safety requirements specified in this European Standard are intended to assure that the carrying and sleeping functions do not present hazards to the child when the product is used in a normal way taking into account the foreseeable behaviour of the child.
This European Standard is not applicable to car seats and reclining cradles.
This European Standard has not considered the requirements of children with special needs.

Artikel für Säuglinge und Kleinkinder - Tragetaschen und Ständer - Sicherheitstechnische Anforderungen und Prüfverfahren

Diese Europäische Norm legt Sicherheitsanforderungen und Prüfverfahren für Produkte fest, die dafür bestimmt sind, mit ihnen ein Kind im Liegen mit einer Hand an einem oder mehreren Tragegriffen zu tragen und für Ständer, die womöglich im Zusammenhang mit diesen Produkten benutzt werden.
Diese Produkte sind für Kinder mit einem maximalen Körpergewicht von 9 kg bestimmt, die sich noch nicht selbst aufsetzen bzw. auf die Seite rollen oder sich auf Hände und Knie stützen können. Im weiteren werden diese Artikel in dieser Europäischen Norm als Tragetaschen bezeichnet. Sie beinhalten alle Arten von Tragetaschen mit starren oder weichen Seitenwänden, sowie auch Moses-Körbchen und ähnliche Artikel. Alle sonstigen Funktionen des Produkts müssen den einschlägigen Europäischen Normen entsprechen.
Die in dieser Europäischen Norm festgelegten Sicherheitsanforderungen sollen sicherstellen, dass beim Tragen und Schlafen des Kindes keine Gefahren für das Kind auftreten, wenn die Produkte auf übliche Art und Weise gebraucht werden und das vorhersehbare Verhalten des Kindes in Betracht gezogen wird.
Diese Europäische Norm findet keine Anwendung auf Autositze und Kinderliegesitze.
Diese Europäische Norm berücksichtigt nicht die Anforderungen für Kinder mit besonderen Bedürfnissen.

Articles de puériculture - Couffins et supports - Exigences de sécurité et méthodes d'essai

La présente Norme européenne spécifie les exigences de sécurité et les méthodes d’essai relatives aux articles munis d’une ou des poignées pour porter un enfant en position couchée et aux supports utilisables en association avec ces articles.
Ces articles sont destinés à être utilisés lorsque l’enfant ne sait pas s’asseoir seul ni rouler sur lui-même ni se redresser en appui sur les mains et les genoux pour un poids maximum de 9 kg. Ces articles sont dénommés ci-après «couffins» et sont de plusieurs types : couffins rigides, couffins souples, moïses et tout article similaire. Toutes les autres fonctions de l’article doivent être conformes aux normes européennes correspondantes.
Les exigences de sécurité prescrites dans la présente norme européenne sont destinées à garantir que l’enfant peut être porté et dormir sans aucun risque lorsque l’article est utilisé normalement, en tenant compte du comportement prévisible de l’enfant.
La présente norme ne s’applique pas aux sièges de voiture ni aux berceaux inclinables.
La présente Norme européenne ne tient pas compte des exigences relatives aux enfants ayant des besoins spéciaux.
