Laminate floor coverings - Elements with a surface layer based on aminoplastic thermosetting resins - Specifications, requirements and test methods

This European Standard specifies characteristics, states requirements and gives test methods for laminate floor coverings (as defined in 3.1).
It includes a classification system, based on EN 685, giving practical requirements for areas of use and levels of use, to indicate where laminate floor coverings will give satisfactory service and to encourage the consumer to make an informed choice. It also specifies requirements for marking and packaging.
Laminate floor coverings are considered for domestic and commercial levels of use. This standard does not specify requirements relating to areas which are subjected to frequent wetting, such as bathrooms, laundry rooms or saunas, but it does apply to domestic kitchens.

Diese Europäische Norm legt Merkmale, Anforderungen und Prüfverfahren für Laminatböden fest (wie in
3.1 definiert).
Sie enthält ein Klassifizierungssystem, das auf EN 685 basiert, mit praktischen Anforderungen für bestimmte
Verwendungsbereiche und Beanspruchungsklassen. Dies dient dazu aufzuzeigen, in welchen Bereichen
Laminatböden zufrieden stellend eingesetzt werden können sowie dazu den Verbraucher in die Lage zu
versetzen, informiert eine Auswahl zu treffen. Sie legt ebenfalls Anforderungen an Kennzeichnung und
Verpackung fest.
Für Laminatböden werden die Anwendungsgebiete ‘Wohnen’ und ‘Gewerblich’ berücksichtigt. Diese Norm
legt keine Anforderungen für Bereiche fest, die regelmäßig Nässe ausgesetzt sind (wie etwa Badezimmer,
Hauswirtschaftsräume oder Saunen); sie gilt jedoch für Küchen im Wohnbereich.

La présente Norme européenne spécifie les caractéristiques, fixe les exigences et donne les méthodes
d’essai pour les revêtements de sol stratifiés (tels que définis en 3.1).
Elle comporte un système de classification, basé sur l’EN 685, définissant des exigences pratiques pour les
zones et niveaux d’utilisation, afin d’indiquer dans quels cas les revêtements de sol stratifiés fournissent un
service satisfaisant et d’encourager le consommateur à faire un choix informé. Elle précise également les
exigences relatives au marquage et à l’emballage.
Les revêtements de sol stratifiés sont destinés à un usage domestique et commercial. La présente norme ne
précise pas les exigences relatives aux zones présentant des risques d’humidification fréquente comme les
salles de bain, les buanderies ou les saunas ; en revanche, elle s’applique aux cuisines domestiques.
