IEC 60728-13-1:2012(E) precisely describes the fibre to the home (FTTH) system for expanding broadband broadcast signal transmission from CATV services only, towards CATV plus broadcast satellite (BS) plus communication satellite (CS) services, additionally to other various signals such as data services. It does not include IP transport technologies.

Namen tega dela standarda IEC 60728 je natančen opis sistema optičnih vlaken do doma (FTTH) za razširitev prenosa širokopasovnega radiodifuzijskega signala, in sicer od izključno storitev CATV na CATV ter radiodifuzijske satelitske (BS) in komunikacijske satelitske (CS) storitve, dodatno pa tudi na druge različne signale, kot so podatkovne storitve. Področje uporabe je omejeno na radiofrekvenčni prenos signalov po optičnih vlaknih do doma (FTTH). Zato ta del standarda IEC 60728 ne vključuje tehnologij prenosa IP.
