Ta standard določa skupne elemente za osnovne časovno kritične sporočilne komunikacije med napravami v avtomatizacijskem okolju. Izraz »časovno kritičen« se uporablja za predstavljanje prisotnosti časovnega okna, v okviru katerega se zahteva dokončanje enega ali več določenih dejanj z določeno stopnjo gotovosti. Zaradi neuspešnega dokončanja določenih dejanj v časovnem oknu je možna odpoved aplikacij, ki zahtevajo dejanja, pri čemer so ogroženi oprema, obrat in morda človeška življenja. Ta standard na abstrakten način določa zunanje vidno opravilo, ki ga zagotavlja nivo podatkovnih povezav procesnih vodil tipa 19 v zvezi z a) primitivnimi dejanji in dogodki opravila; b) parametri, povezanimi z vsakim primitivnim dejanjem in dogodkom, in obliko, ki jo prevzamejo; ter c) medsebojno povezavo med temi dejanji in dogodki ter njihovimi veljavnimi zaporedji. Namen tega standarda je določiti opravila, ki se zagotavljajo za: – aplikacijski nivo procesnih vodil tipa 19 na meji med aplikacijskim nivojem in nivojem podatkovnih povezav referenčnega modela procesnih vodil ter – vodenje sistemov na meji med nivojem podatkovnih povezav in vodenje sistemov referenčnega modela procesnih vodil.

The text of document 65C/604/FDIS, future edition 2 of IEC 61158-3-19, prepared by SC 65C, "Industrial
networks", of IEC/TC 65, "Industrial-process measurement, control and automation" was submitted to the
IEC-CENELEC parallel vote and approved by CENELEC as EN 61158-3-19:2012.

The following dates are fixed:

This document supersedes EN 61158-3-19:2008.
EN 61158-3-19:2012 includes the following significant technical changes with respect to EN 61158-3-
19:2008:
 increasing the number of supported devices (511 instead of 254);
 introducing a communication version identification;
 adding a mechanism for remote address allocation;
 introducing enhanced parameter addressing (32 bit instead of 16 bit);
 restructuring control and status word;
 improving the redundancy and hotplug features;
 improving the error handling;
 adding a multiplexing protocol (SMP: Type 19 Messaging Protocol).
