1.1 Product definition This document contains the initial, start of life dimensional, optical, mechanical and environmental performance requirements, which multimode mechanical splice needs to meet in order for it to be categorized as a European standard product. Although, in this document, the product is qualified for EN IEC 60793 2 10 types A1-OM1, A1-OM2, A1-OM3, A1-OM4 and A1-OM5 multimode fibres, it can also be suitable for other fibre types with 125 µm cladding diameter. 1.2 Interoperability The installed mechanical splice fits into optical fibre management system with optical splice cassettes or splice trays as defined in EN IEC 61756 1. This document specifies the following two physical interface dimensions: — cross sectional profile with width, height or diameter (in millimetres); — length (in millimetres). 1.3 Expected performance In this document, the performance of the mechanical splice is given with identical fibres only as specified in Annex A. Losses associated with tolerances in fibre cladding diameter and core diameter mismatch are not taken into account. The measured attenuation is a function of the core concentricity, cladding non-circularity and alignment capability. The optical return loss performance is a function of the index matching gel and the fibre end face preparation 1.4 Operating environment The tests selected combined with the severities and durations are representative of an outdoor enclosed environment category OP as defined in EN IEC 61753 1:2018, Table A.5. To ensure that the product can be used in outdoor closures, boxes or street cabinets for categories A, G or S (as defined in EN IEC 61753 1:2018, Tables A.13, A.14 and A.15) the specified lower temperature is extended to −40 °C and a water immersion requirement for temporary flooding conditions has been added. 1.5 Reliability Whilst the anticipated service life expectancy of the product in this environment is at least 20 years, compliance with this specification does not guarantee the reliability of the product. This is expected to be predicted using a recognized reliability assessment programme. 1.6 Quality assurance Compliance with this specification does not guarantee the manufacturing consistency of the product. This is expected to be maintained using a recognized quality assurance programme.

1.1 Définition du produit Le présent document contient les exigences de performances initiales, de début de vie, dimensionnelles, optiques, mécaniques et environnementales, auxquelles une épissure mécanique multimodale est tenue de satisfaire, afin d’être classée comme produit conforme à une Norme européenne. Bien que, dans le présent document, le produit soit qualifié pour des fibres multimodales de types A1-OM1, A1 OM2, A1-OM3, A1-OM4 et A1-OM5 de l’EN IEC 60793 2 10, il peut également convenir à d’autres types de fibres de diamètre de gaine 125 µm. 1.2 Interopérabilité Les épissures mécaniques installées s’adaptent à un système de gestion de fibres optiques avec des cassettes ou des plateaux d’épissures de fibres optiques tels que définis dans l’EN IEC 61756 1. Le présent document spécifie les deux dimensions d’interface physique suivantes: — profil transversal avec largeur, hauteur ou diamètre (en millimètres); — longueur (en millimètres). 1.3 Performance attendue Dans le présent document, la performance d’une épissure mécanique est donnée uniquement avec des fibres identiques, comme spécifié dans l’Annexe A. Les pertes associées aux tolérances sur la disparité du diamètre de la gaine de fibre et du diamètre du cœur ne sont pas prises en compte. L’affaiblissement mesuré dépend de la concentricité du cœur, de la non-circularité de la gaine et de la capacité d’alignement. La performance de l’affaiblissement de réflexion optique dépend du gel permettant de conserver l’indice et de la préparation de l’extrémité de la fibre 1.4 Environnement de fonctionnement Les essais choisis combinés avec les sévérités et les durées sont représentatifs de l’environnement extérieur enfermé défini comme catégorie OP dans l’EN IEC 61753 1:2018, Tableau A.5. Afin d’assurer que le produit puisse être utilisé dans des boîtiers extérieurs, des boîtes ou des armoires d’environnement urbain pour les catégories A, G et S (telles que définies dans l’EN IEC 61753 1: 2018, dans les Tableaux A.13, A.14 et A.15), la température inférieure spécifiée est étendue à –40 °C, et des exigences relatives à l’immersion dans l’eau en cas d’inondation temporaire ont été ajoutées. 1.5 Fiabilité Tandis que l’espérance de vie du produit en service prévue dans cet environnement est d’au moins 20 ans, la conformité à la présente spécification ne garantit pas la fiabilité du produit. Il est attendu que celle-ci soit estimée en utilisant un programme reconnu d’évaluation de la fiabilité.

1.1   Opredelitev izdelka
Ta dokument vsebuje začetne dimenzijske, optične, mehanske in okoljske zahteve, ki jih mora na začetku svoje življenjske dobe izpolnjevati večrodna mehanska spojnica, da se lahko kategorizira kot izdelek v skladu z evropskim standardom.
Čeprav je izdelek v tem dokumentu kvalificiran za tipe večrodnih vlaken A1-OM1, A1-OM2, A1-OM3, A1-OM4 in A1-OM5 v skladu s standardom EN IEC 60793-2-10, je morda primeren tudi za druge vrste vlaken s premerom obloge 125 µm.
1.2   Interoperabilnost
Vgrajena mehanska spojnica se prilega sistemu za upravljanje optičnih vlaken s kasetami ali pladnji s spojnicami, kot je opredeljeno v standardu EN IEC 61756 1. Ta dokument določa naslednji dve dimenziji fizičnega vmesnika:
