Digitalne izboljšane brezvrvične telekomunikacije (DECT) - Specifikacija preskusa - 2. del: Zvok in govor

• učinkovito uporabo frekvenčnega spektra;
• preprečitev poškodb katerega koli priključenega omrežja in njegovih storitev;
• preprečitev poškodb drugih radijskih omrežij in storitev;
• preprečitev poškodb druge opreme za digitalne izboljšane brezvrvične komunikacije ali njenih storitev;
• 1. del [9] zajema preskušanje parametrov radijskih frekvenc, varnostnih elementov in protokolov digitalnih izboljšanih brezvrvičnih komunikacij, ki omogočajo lažje izvajanje preskusov radijskih frekvenc ter učinkovito uporabo frekvenčnega spektra;
d) brezžična relejna postaja (WRS) (fiksni in prenosni del skupaj).

Overview

ETSI EN 300 176-2 V2.3.1 (2019-12) (ETSI EN 300 176-2 V2.3.1) is the DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications) test specification - Part 2: Audio and speech. It specifies the tests for DECT equipment accessing any DECT frequency band (including applicable IMT‑2000 bands) and for DECT speech/audio transmission using the codecs and audio specifications referenced in ETSI EN 300 175‑8. The standard’s aims are to ensure efficient spectrum use, protect networks and other radio services from interference, support DECT-to-network interworking (ISDN/PSTN/Internet), and validate speech/audio performance of Fixed Parts (FP), Portable Parts (PP), Cordless Terminal Adapters (CTA) and Wireless Relay Stations (WRS).

Key topics and technical requirements

  • Scope of audio/speech testing: Tests between network interfaces and DECT PTs or between DECT CI air interface and PT/FT; structured to test FP and PP together or separately. (Not applicable to devices specifically designed for the disabled.)
  • Audio types and codecs: Coverage of narrowband, wideband, super-wideband and fullband audio types and their mapping to codecs (document references codecs such as G.711, G.726, G.722, G.729.1, MPEG‑AAC and LC3plus).
  • Test setups and instrumentation: Use of low-noise rooms, artificial mouth/ear, Head and Torso Simulator (HATS), Lower Tester (LT) and calibrated measurement chains.
  • Performance test areas: Hands‑free/loudspeaking mode, handset/headset positioning, background noise simulation, echo path variability, digital signal levels, and positional robustness.
  • Ideal/reference codecs and measurement interpretation: Definitions of ideal codec behavior for objective test comparisons and guidance on interpreting measurement results and uncertainties.
  • General test conditions: Power/environment limits, applicant declarations regarding speech coding algorithms and TAP in the FP, and test configurations for complete DECT systems or individual components.

Practical applications and users

  • Device manufacturers: Validate DECT handsets, base stations (FP), CTAs and WRS against audio/speech performance and regulatory requirements.
  • Test laboratories: Implement standardized test methods (HATS, LT setups, echo/background noise simulations) to produce reproducible compliance evidence.
  • Regulatory authorities and certification bodies: Assess conformity to DECT audio/speech requirements and ensure coexistence with other radio services.
  • Network operators and integrators: Verify interworking (PSTN/ISDN/Internet) and voice quality across DECT deployments.

Related standards

  • ETSI EN 300 176‑1 (Part 1 - RF, security and protocol tests)
  • ETSI EN 300 175‑1 to EN 300 175‑8 (DECT system and audio specifications)
  • Other referenced codec standards (G.711, G.722, G.726, G.729.1, MPEG‑AAC, LC3plus)
