IEC 62885-8:2019 is applicable for measurements of the performance of mains-operated dry vacuum cleaners, including water filter vacuum cleaners, for commercial use. The requirements for the construction and testing covered by this document are applied in addition to the requirements for commercial vacuum cleaners in IEC 60335-2-69.
The purpose of this document is to specify essential performance characteristics of dry vacuum cleaners for commercial use that are of interest to operators and to describe methods for measuring these characteristics.
Due to the influence of environmental conditions, variations in time, origin of test materials and proficiency of the operator, some of the described test methods will give more reliable results when applied for comparative testing of a number of appliances at the same time, in the same laboratory and by the same operator.
The methods here can be applied with modifications for surface-cleaning product types or technologies not currently covered within the scope.
For safety requirements, reference is made to IEC 60335-1 and IEC 60335-2-69.
This first edition cancels and replaces IEC PAS 62611, published in 2009.

L'IEC 62885-8:2019 s’applique aux mesures de l'aptitude à la fonction des aspirateurs à sec qui fonctionnent sur le réseau, y compris les aspirateurs à filtre à eau, à usage commercial. Les exigences relatives à la construction et aux essais couvertes par le présent document sont appliquées en complément des exigences applicables aux aspirateurs à usage commercial de l'IEC 60335-2-69.
Le présent document a pour objet de spécifier les caractéristiques essentielles d'aptitude à la fonction des aspirateurs à sec à usage commercial présentant un intérêt pour les opérateurs et de décrire des méthodes de mesure de ces caractéristiques.
En raison de l'influence des conditions environnementales, des variations dans le temps, de l'origine des matériaux d'essai et de l'aptitude de l'opérateur, certaines des méthodes d'essai décrites offrent des résultats plus fiables si elles sont appliquées lors d'essais comparatifs d'un certain nombre d'appareils à la fois, dans le même laboratoire et par le même opérateur.
Les méthodes citées ici peuvent être appliquées avec des modifications pour des types de produits ou des technologies de nettoyage des sols qui ne sont actuellement pas couverts par le domaine d'application.
Pour les exigences de sécurité, il est fait référence aux normes IEC 60335-1 et IEC 60335 2 69.
Cette première édition annule et remplace l'IEC PAS 62611, parue en 2009.

1) The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) is a worldwide organization for standardization comprising

document supplements and modifies the requirements of IEC 62885-2:2016. When a
particular clause/subclause of IEC 62885-2:2016 is not mentioned in this document, that
clause/subclause applies. Whenever a requirement of this document is in conflict with a
requirement of IEC 62885-2.2016, the requirement of this document will take precedence.
Additional specific provisions to those in IEC 62885-2:2016, given as individual clauses or
subclauses, are numbered starting from 101.
