BRIEF HISTORY
The IS0 Recommendation R 475, Ditnensions of Rectangular Refractory Bricks, was drawn
up by Technical Committee ISO/TC 33, Refractories, the Secretariat of which is held by the
British Standards Institution (BSI).
Work on this question by the Technical Committee began in 1959 and led, in 1962, to the
adoption of a Draft IS0 Recommendation.
In March 1963, this Draft IS0 Recommendation (No. 568) was circulated to all the IS0
Member Bodies for enquiry. It was approved by the following Member Bodies:

Czechoslovakia India Spain
Italy Sweden
Denmark
France Japan United Kingdom
Germany Netherlands U.S.A.
One Member Body opposed the approval of the Draft: U.S.S.R.

HISTORIQUE
La Recommandation ISO/R 475, Dimensions des briques réfractaires à faces rectangulaires, a
été élaborée par le Comité Technique ISO/TC 33, Matériaux réfractaires, dont le Secrétariat est
assuré par la British Standards Institution (BSI).
Les travaux relatifs à cette question furent entrepris par le Comité Technique en 1959 et
aboutirent en 1962 à l’adoption d’un Projet de Recommandation ISO.
En mars 1963, ce Projet de Recommandation IS0 (NO 568) fut soumis à l’enquête de tous
les Comités Membres de I’ISO. Il fut approuvé par les Comités Membres suivants:
