Introduction

The 1 kilogram gold bar (also named gold kilobar) is the most manufactured and traded small gold

bar. As the premium associated with this product is generally very low, it is popular not only among

institutional and private investors, but also among jewellery manufacturers and industries.

Unlike 400 troy ounces (approximately 12,5 kg) bars, for which a recognized standard is published by

the LBMA (London Bullion Market Association) in its Good Delivery Rules, there is no internationally

recognized standard for 1 kilogram gold bars. Each market (e.g. COMEX in New York, SGE in Shanghai,

TOCOM in Tokyo) has its own rules for accepting those bars, which can include spec

Introduction

Le lingot d'or d'un kilogramme (également appelée kilobarre d’or) est le lingot d'or de petites dimensions

le plus fabriqué et le plus commercialisé au monde. La prime qui lui est associée étant généralement

très faible, il s’agit d’un produit populaire non seulement auprès des investisseurs institutionnels et

privés, mais aussi des industriels et des fabricants bijoutiers et joailliers.

Contrairement aux barres de 400 onces troy (environ 12,5 kg) pour lesquelles une norme reconnue est

publiée par la LBMA (London Bullion Market Association) dans ses Règles de bonne livraison, il n'existe

aucune norme reconnue à l’échelle internationale pour les lingots d'or de 1 kilogramme. Chaque marché

(par exemple le COMEX à New York, le SGE à Shanghai, le TOCOM à Tokyo) a ses propres règles quant à

l’acceptation de ces lingots, qui peuvent inclure des spécifications concernant la tolérance de masse, les
