Foreword
ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies (ISO
member bodies). The work of preparing International Standards is normally carried out through ISO technical
committees. Each member body interested in a subject for which a technical committee has been established has
the right to be represented on that committee. International organizations, governmental and non-governmental, in
liaison with ISO, also take part in the work. ISO collaborates closely with the International Electrotechnical
Commission (IEC) on all matters of electrotechnical standardization.
International Standards are drafted in accordance with the rules given in the ISO/IEC Directives, Part 3.
The main task of technical committees is to prepare International Standards. Draft International Standards adopted
by the technical committees are circulated to the member bodies for voting. Publication as an International
Standard requires approval by at least 75 % of the member bodies casting a vote.

1 Scope
This International Standard specifies the main characteristics of M14 × 1,25 compact spark-plugs with flat seating
and 19 mm hexagon and their cylinder head housing, for use with spark-ignition engines.

3 Terminals
The spark-plug terminal may be either of the solid post or threaded type as specified in ISO 14508. A spark-plug
with a threaded terminal on which a nut is applied shall respect the dimensions specified for spark-plugs with solid
post terminals (see Figure 1).

La présente Norme internationale spécifie les caractéristiques principales des bougies d'allumage M14 ¥ 1,25
«compactes» à siège plat et à hexagone de 19 mm, ainsi que de leur logement dans la culasse; ces bougies sont

3 Bornes
La borne de la bougie d'allumage peut être du type monobloc ou du type fileté comme décrit dans l'ISO 14508. La
bougie d'allumage avec une borne filetée sur laquelle un écrou est appliqué doit respecter les dimensions
indiquées pour les bougies d'allumage avec borne monobloc (voir Figure 1).
