ISO 11645:1993
(Main)Leather — Heat stability of industrial-glove leather
Leather — Heat stability of industrial-glove leather
Specifies a method for assessing the changes in dimensions, shape and flexibility of leather upon application of heat, where such leather is intended for the manufacture of industrial gloves. The principle of the method is heating a test specimen in an oven and assessing any shrinkage, as well as any change in shape or flexibility. The method is applicable to both finished and unfinished leathers and can also be used for other items of protective clothing.

Foreword
ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide
federation of national Standards bodies (ISO member bodies). The work
of preparing International Standards is normally carried out through ISO
technical committees. Esch member body interested in a subject for
which a technical committee has been established has the right to be
represented on that committee. International organizations, governmental
and non-governmental, in liaison with ISO, also take part in the work. ISO
collaborates closely with the International Electrotechnical Commission
(IEC) on all matters of electrotechnical standardization.
Draft International Standards adopted by the technical committees are
circulated to the member bodies for voting. Publication as an International
Standard requires approval by at least 75 % of the member bodies casting
a vote.
International Standard ISO 11645 was prepared by the Physical Tests
Commission of the International Union of Leather Technologists and
Chemists Societies (IUP Commission, IULTCS). lt is based on I UP 35
published in J. Sec. Leather Tech. Chem., 73, pp. 62-63 (l989), and de-
clared an official method of the IULTCS in October 1989.
