This International Standard is applicable to springs for use in fixed orthodontic appliances.
This International Standard gives details of methods to compare the functional dimensions of orthodontic
springs, the test methods by which they can be determined, as well as packaging and labelling information.

“Dentistry” in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 55 “Dentistry” the secretariat of which
is held by DIN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by February 2017, and conflicting national standards
shall be withdrawn at the latest by February 2017.
