This standard specifies a method to determine the amounts of phenol in footwear materials and other commodities. It applies to all parts of the footwear except metal parts.

Diese Europäische Norm legt ein Verfahren für die Bestimmung der Mengen an Phenol in Schuhwerkstoffen und anderen Waren fest. Sie gilt für alle Teile des Schuhwerks außer für Metallteile.
CEN ISO/TR 16178, Tabelle 1, definiert, welche Materialien von dieser Bestimmung betroffen sind.

NOTE L'ISO/TR 16178:2012, Tableau 1, indique les matériaux concernés par la présente méthode de détermination.

This document (EN ISO 20536:2017) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 216
"Footwear" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 309 “Footwear” the secretariat of which
is held by UNE.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by May 2018, and conflicting national standards shall be
withdrawn at the latest by May 2018.
