This part of IEC 60794 is a detailed specification. It presents the detailed requirements specific to duct and directly buried optical telecommunication cables for use in premises cabling to ensure compatibility with ISO 11801 [1]1). The requirements of the family specification IEC 60794-3-10 are applicable to cables covered by this standard.

Foreword
The text of document 86A/1000/FDIS, future edition 1 of IEC 60794-3-12, prepared by SC 86A, Fibres
and cables, of IEC TC 86, Fibre optics, was submitted to the IEC-CENELEC parallel vote and was
approved by CENELEC as EN 60794-3-12 on 2005-12-01.
This standard shall be used in conjunction with EN 60794-1-1:2002, EN 60794-1-2:2003, EN 60794-3:2002
and EN 60794-3-10:2002.
The following dates were fixed:
– latest date by which the EN has to be implemented
at national level by publication of an identical
national standard or by endorsement (dop) 2006-12-01
– latest date by which the national standards conflicting
with the EN have to be withdrawn (dow) 2008-12-01
Annex ZA has been added by CENELEC.

FOREWORD
