EN 50407-3 defines indoor multi-pair/quad cables for installation in Multi Dwelling units shaft supporting universal services, xDSL and applications up to 100 MBits over IP, their relative definitions and requirements. NOTE Higher bit rate applications need cables specified in a relevant part of EN 50406 or EN 50288 series. It covers cables, with an overall screen, with performances up to 100 MHz, to be used in indoor networks intended to connect the broadband outside plant to the individual customer dwelling for applications 100 Mbit/s over IP maximum length of connection 100 m. The electrical, environmental, mechanical and transmission performance characteristics of the cables, related to their reference test methods, are detailed.

Diese Europäische Norm beschreibt vielpaarige Kabel/Viererkabel zur Installation in Mehrfamilienhäusern für universelle Dienste, xDSL und Anwendungen bis zu 100 MBits über Internetprotokoll (IP) sowie die damit zusammenhängenden Definitionen und Anforderungen. ANMERKUNG   Anwendungen mit höheren Bitraten erfordern Kabel, die in dem entsprechenden Teil der Reihen EN 50406 oder EN 50288 beschrieben sind.  Diese Norm umfasst Kabel mit einem Gesamtschirm, mit Übertragungs¬eigenschaften bis zu 100 MHz als Innenkabel zum Anschluss der individuellen informationstechnischen Verkabelung mit dem Breitband Außenanschluss für Anwendungen bis zu 100 MBits über Internetprotokoll (IP). Die maximal empfohlene Länge beträgt 100 m.  Die elektrischen und mechanischen Eigenschaften, die Übertragungseigenschaften und das Verhalten gegenüber den Bedingungen der Umgebung werden in Bezug auf die Prüfverfahren beschrieben.

OPOMBA Aplikacije z višjimi bitnimi hitrostmi potrebujejo kable, ki jih določa ustrezen del iz skupine standardov EN 50406 ali EN 50288. Zajema kable s skupnim zaslonom in razponom delovanja do 100 MHz za uporabo v notranjih omrežjih, namenjenih povezavi zunanjega širokopasovnega dobavitelja z bivališčem posamezne stranke za aplikacije prenosnih hitrosti 100 Mbit po IP z dolžino povezave, ki meri največ 100 m. Podrobno so opredeljene električne, okoljske, mehanske in prenosne lastnosti delovanja kablov in navedene referenčne preskusne metode.
